Fantasy The Adventures of the Mixed and Messed up (M)

    Tenoba

A world of adventure filled to the brim with magic, interesting races, an wonders.

    But, there is a twist.
    The party swaps bodies.

You will create your character like normal. make them however you want as long as it fits and makes sense.
then, not long after we start, you will swap bodies with someone.
you may opt to swap with an NPC if you so wish, but the NPC you swap with will be generated by the DM. Now, unless everyone decides they want to choose who they swap with, swapping will be purely random and will be announced by the DM.
your mind will still be in tact, but you will be in someone else's body. the hormones might mess around with your head depending on race and gender swapping.

now, the idea of the story is to find a way to reverse it. but the players may choose to opt out of reversing the effects as the story moves along. interesting things may happen to different people in different bodies.

Shouldn't equipment fall under body? Unless the new body owner agrees to swap equipment they get the equipment their new body has.

I think I know the answers to the following but I want to be sure.

Is age listed under body and mind because if you are 60 year old and swap with a 10 year old you still have mind of a 60 year old?

Also is possilbe to have body age of 20 but maturity/mental age of 16? Some diseases cause that (can't think of any off the top of my head) and some just don't mature as fast as their body ages.

    1. I'll leave the equipment where it is for now. but swapping gear will be between you and the other players.

    2. yes, that is the reason why it is listed under both.

    3. if you really want to, yes, it is possible.

    I'm actually liking your character
but I must worn you, your magic seems to be connected to your blood, and therefore, your body.
now, you may have learned those spells, and you might be able to cast them in another body with any magical ability. (not everyone can become a wizard.)
The new host will get your spellcasting abilities and may learn something new, but will not know how to cast any of the spells you do without knowing.

now, I am questioning the power of some of your spells a little. interesting as they are, I will be putting some preventive measures in play such as dispel magic and anti-magic fields.
I also feel your ability to spell cast offsets your lack of actual combat skills.

in the end, I find it rather acceptable.

Excellent, thank you! And you are absolutely right regarding the spells being tied to blood. I anticipate that none of that magic will follow her in the body-swap and whoever inherits her skin inherits the potential... to probably create a lot of chaos without being able to wield those powers properly, haha.

She has knowledge of rituals so maybe she can figure something out, but like you said, I imagine that will depend on who she swaps into and whether she can actually remember them. Having no physical fighting skills, we'll find out how that goes, I suppose!

As for counter-measures, that's completely understandable. If I need to rewrite any of the magical abilities to fit better, let me know and I'm happy to do it!

    @Highland Sniper;

    Name: Nasa Moon-walker
    Spoiler: body

    Spoiler: mind

    Spoiler: equipment:

    other:

    Eris!

The goblin moaned and tried to open its eyes - while the lids wouldn't open, it could see a wild elf staring back at it. It tried to scream, but it could feel the stiches now in its lips and eyelids.

"Somebody help me!" it somehow managed. "This elf is gonna kill me!"
"Firn cin," she shrugged, reaching into a leather skin stretched over the fire to pull a steaming furred pouch of skin.
"What do you mean I'm... dead?!?" it suddenly hooted as she pulled out a bone needle and began sewing up the eyelids on the shrunken leather. "I ain't done nothin' to you, why kill me?"

The elf put down the goblin skin, then grabbed a clay pot, which it turned towards the dangling head to show the seal.
    "Edhil," she spat.
    "We found that."
"Cin," she pointed at, making its blood run cold - or would have, if it had any left.

"Why do this?" it whimpered. "Why not kill me and get it over with?!?"
    "Cin pedi."
"Speak for you.....I don't get it?!"
"Pedas firen," the elvish gir shrugged, pulling out a Kukri blade from where it had gotten the pot. It was stamped with the traders' mark.
"Found dat too," it tried to grin but couldn't. "So what if humans did send us after you, whatcha gonna do?"

"Hain belth," Nasa bared her teeth, chopping with the blade.

Note: Nasa knows about twenty or so words of common.
