Over the centuries time had changed, humans lived and died and became wiser than their ancestors to the point they no longer relied on the stories of the past. Their belief in the supernatural was no more but the mere tale in books or games. However, the darkness never disappeared even after it wasn't believed in anymore, everyday it would still try to claim the souls of those that went about their days. Angels still fought to protect the world from this dark evil, they were no longer known or praised by humans, but still kept their oath to protect them by doing it in the shadows and blending in with the modern society.
Javan was one of those angels, a warrior of the past and in the present, he took on the role of a detective, giving him the ability to track down evil much faster without being noticed by the humans going about their day. He hid his wings but his silver hair was often still questionable but luckily the excuse of it being dyed was a rather believable one. Today he was busy with his normal work as another human in the city, mainly being filling out paperwork from his last case of a kidnapped girl who they were luckily able to return to her parents safely.
He moved some hair from his face and then sighs as he finished the last it of work, then got up from his seat and said his goodbyes to a few of his coworkers while he got ready to head home. On his way out he made sure to grab a cup of coffee, taking a sip as he left the building and walked home. Looking at the busy streets around him, unlike the past, humans had become driven by work, day in and day out, sure wars between humans were less but demons only got their control over the unclear minds of the people much better. He sipped on his coffee once more to clear any deep thoughts from developing, he had to prepare for the night, it was reported by the angel alliance that the demons were more active tonight than usual, he was requested to join the groups heading out to destroy this very threat.
Once home he got changed out of his suit, giving him the freedom to have his wings appear and stretch before he finished the last of his coffee and found some more suitable clothes to wear after his shower. Once dressed he looked at the time and waited for night to come, preparing himself for the fight that laid ahead. Most of these were small demons, still able to harm humans badly but was rather easy to kill off for an angel as himself, only problem was managing to find them all in time before they reached a human just unlucky enough to run into them. He sighs softly and walked to the door, opening it and leaving the house, making his way to the darker alleys of the city, the perfect place for demons to hide.
