    Fantasy What Darkness Finds ~M~(NamingtoohardXLostMisfit)

The Fae were always one step ahead of humanity, learning from them and keeping up to blend in. So it's not a surprise that now they mingle among the cities holding keys back into the fae realm but they aren't perfect. War was to them just as it was to the humans fighting amongst the light and dark courts. The light court consists of fae that hail magic over life, light, plants, and water. while the dark court's power of earth, fire, shadows, and death.

It was said the war started with two brothers one with the power of life, he loved to create things and make them due his bidding regardless of the outcome, but his brother took pity on many creatures using the power of death to end the puppets existence. This caused resentment between the brothers but one day the Light king met a young spring fae growing flowers among the fields of light and he knew he had to have her, but she was cursed with a weak heart and the love didn't last for long. When his wife passed he forced her to remain as a husk by his side pretending nothing had happened, when they say what's dead should stay dead it was not a lie. The creatures forced to live after death begin to twist and contort craving meat and no longer holding on to the magic that made them who they where inside.

The Night King took pity upon discovering the poor queen staring into the stars, her gaze and soul both gone. Laying his hands on her shoulders he whispered the words of freedom for the damned soul. The queen only being held together by magic that no longer flowed through her turned to ash and when his brother found out he was furious both from losing his love and the rage built up from not being able to save her. Declaring war on his brother and all whom followed him created years of fighting and death.

though time may pass and change fae tend to not age like humans leaving the kings both in charge till this day, the Light king offering a price on all-female Spring fae in hopes his love will one day return to him and those who are deemed not the queen are turned into his own personal harem of prisoners. The Night king knowing the queen would not return for he to had searched for her soul among the dead and found nothing still offered a pretty penny for the women as well. They made for good bargaining chips with his brother and few of them possessed great gifts that were very useful in the arts of living forever.

over the years the human realm began to discover new things and create places the fae found very appealing. Some liked bars and others just enjoyed the man small trinkets humans made. So they dug deeps into companies around the world a silent battle going on in a world only the magical eye could see.

    Name: Kana (Kailen)
    Race: Winter Fae
Gifts: Crafting illusions beyond typical fae glamours
    Gender: Male
    Age: 217 (Appears Mid-20s)

    Appearance:
Standing at a rather average 6’1, Kana boasts the lean, wiry build of someone who is no stranger to street fights. Indeed, a crooked nose and a short, straight scar across his left cheek both speak to a history of violence. His eyes are a pale blue, as befitting his winter heritage. His hair is shoulder-length, and is normally pulled back into a rough, messy ponytail. Whilst normally silver in colour, he usually keeps it glamoured so that it appears a pale blonde instead, to help hide his identity.

    History:
Whilst technically a member of the winter court, Kana is a lowborn bastard, and feels no allegiance towards the rest of his people.

The son of a lowly prostitute, he has no idea who his father is, and was raised by his mother alone. Despite their poor circumstances, she did her best to care for Kana, and tried to protect him from the realities of her world and job. Many of his youngest childhood memories are happy ones, bathed in the light of blissful ignorance. Days spent playing hide and seek with her, ducking in and out of rooms with all the unabashed energy of youth. Whenever she was too busy to care for him, he would pass the time with one of her friends, who often found their own ways to entertain the rambunctious child.

When Kana’s magic began to manifest, his mother encouraged him to nurture his growing talent. She couldn’t teach him directly – her own gifts lay elsewhere – but she often pushed him to go bigger, to do more. To push the limits and see just how far his power extended, to discover what he was really capable of. It wasn’t long before Kana was getting out of chores by hiding himself, or decorating the interior of their room with beautiful vistas to surprise her.

As Kana grew older, and his powers became stronger, things took a turn for the worse. The young fae decided that he wanted to help support his mother, so that she was less pressured to work the job that she hated, and had been forced into by circumstance. He set out into the world, determined to get a job, so that he could help her. It wasn’t long before the young fae found out just how cruel and dark of a place the world could really be to street rats like him. How unkind other people could be, and how they looked down on those like him. He started taking dirty jobs just because they paid well, often telling himself that he had no choice. That the rest of the world had never looked out for him and his mother, so he would have to look out for them, even if he did so at everyone else’s expense. The way his mother thanked him was often enough to soothe any doubts Kana had, and make the way he dirtied his hands seem more worthwhile.

As the decades passed, Kana found himself getting used to the dirty sort of work he was forced to do. Unsympathetic and callous, he no longer hesitates as he used to, and is willing to do just about anything, so long as it will see him through to the next day. Morals are a luxury that only the wealthy can afford, in his eyes, and survival is the only law that matters. Still, there’s no doubting that he has a bit of a soft spot, even if it rarely shows anymore.

I do apologize for the late reply, and the unfinished character sheet. Work has been a little busier than I expected, and there were a few more things I wanted to go over with you before I committed to some of the specific details. I'll use the above as a placeholder and edit it into a complete form within the next couple of days, if all goes according to plan.

On another note, I adore the direction you've taken the plot between the kings of the two respective courts. A lot more than the ideas I were originally mulling over, actually. Making the Seelie king the 'bad guy' is a nice twist. Unexpected, but still very fitting and totally believable. I really like how it's shaping up so far!

    Name: Faith (Feronia)
    Race: Spring/Light fae
    Age: 28 (Hasn’t aged since 25)
    Gender: Female
    Gifts: controlling plant life
Appearance: Faith was a small woman of about 5’4” with mossy green eyes and blonde hair that hangs down past her waist with about 3 inches of a soft blue at the tips at the ends. Like most spring fae she was built with the curves human men truly enjoyed and a round face with lips that could pout any man into submission.

History: Faith had grown up mostly normal, other than small hiccups in life like the science fair when she tried to see if music affected the plant growth and she may or may not have made the plant grow out of control as one of the other girls started picking on her for being so weird and always talking to plants. Little did they know the plants knew more than most grown-ups, let alone small mean girls but that didn’t stop the wave of rage that made the vines begin extending and even crawling towards the girls. After that, her mother had pulled her aside and told her special people to get special gifts but the gifts cant be used to take another’s life over something like mean girls in school. “All life has a purpose and meaning, and it isn’t our job to cut that short.” Her mother had told her time and time again.

Though as many times as her mother lectured her, she had never actually shown her how to control the gifts she had and over the years she had a plant in her room that sometimes she would practice on. One year she had given her mother an orchid she made sure would never wilt and on special days she would go and change the color of it. Her mother loved the flower the most, she used to say it reminded her of home though she hadn’t exactly told her where home was? Her life always seemed filled with some type of mystery and sometimes she would snoop around looking for hints, but all she had really ever found was a dress that looks foreign and made with light blue silks and satins. The gems wherein so many colors that sometimes she felt the changed color in appearance. Her mother had laughed and told her it was a stage prop in an old play she had tried but Faith felt it was a lie, but it wasn’t in her to argue when the pain reflected in her mother's eyes about it.

She had been twelve when she came home to the small apartment in shambles and her mother's body on the floor. The doctor said it was a heart attack, that her heart had just stopped, no one had looked around and noticed the flower so special to her mother hidden in a closet, and the apartment all ripped apart except for her room. Nothing made sense but she had never had time to think about it too hard because for a girl without a father and any record of her birth or family. She just went to the state, she had packed a small bag of things that she treasured the most and held to it with a tightness that even led to more outbursts of anger and things people could not explain.

She had learned quickly to try and stay calm at all times, sometimes even hiding her own emotions inside the plants around her. At 18 the state didn’t care for her anymore and that was all right by her, but it also left her with nothing and nowhere to go. Working tirelessly, she had managed a small apartment and she had stuck to that.
