In previous games, I've noticed that interest drops rapidly if we do the whole interview/move-in day routine. I'm going to suggest we just start as already hired, already on board and about to enter battle and hope that helps sustain interest.

I'm know I'm not a part yet but I'm cool with that. With my humans I am thinking they don't fully realize where they are from. The story of them being from Earth is a legend. After being enslaved they were forced by their masters to forget their past. Over many generations it has become a bedtime story that some believe as true and others don't.

Something you may want to consider is distorted stories, like how once a year Santa finds them wherever they are and slips a hard-boiled egg in their pocket.

I am thinking your race may have been slaves of a race within the Heg or SoSym. Or they could have been an under an unaffiliated race.
So questions to answer:
Where do they get their technology and resources?
What happened to their masters, why did they let them go? (Possibly the Xel-dan came across them and liberated them from their masters?)
Do they have any kind of society? How do they differ from Earth Terrans?
Why aren't they gobbled up by another power?

For some reason, a game a lot of my Wilders play is Monopoly (one of the few games to make it to them). So each Wilder carries with them a customized playing piece. Wilders may not ship out if there's no Monopoly game on board, although some carry a part of the game with them.

Why aren't they gobbled up by another power?

Just a suggestion, it might be that the prize crop of this world takes several years to harvest. Likely this is a colony or corporate world, and the race helping the rebels are already at war with the home world, and were using the rebellion to draw away the home world's military forces, weakening the home world defense.

So it's possible that the colony world is of little value to other races, and not worth the effort to conquer.

I'm still working on my character and ship but here are my races. I planet to use the Kytherian more and the Telcos are more informational.

Spoiler: Telos (SoSym) 

A reptilian snakelike people from the system of of Telcos, they at appropriately three meters from the top of their heads to the tip of their tails, and most stand at two meters. They have a two arms and no legs, instead slithering along on their tails. The colors of the Telos range from blue to green. For centuries they were a harsh people with no issues profiting from slave labor. Though in recent years many of the younger Telos known at the Foju have come to believe their way of life was wrong. They tried lobby through the feudalistic government but the lords who have gotten rich off the status quo didn't want to change. It wasn't until a civil war was fought ten years ago that it changed. The Foju rallied the Kytherian slaves to fight their war with the promise of freedom. By the end of the war the Foju had implemented a elected government and the Kytherian had their freedom even being made citzens of Telcos.

The Kytherian are a young society as an independent society. Biologically they are humans from Earth in the Sol system. How long they have been removed from Earth isn't entirely known however it has been at least a thousand years. Long before the humans had ventured into space a people from the far away system of Telcos came in search of free labor. There were stories of lost ships, missing airplanes, or whole towns disappearing without any cause. The Telos is what happen to the people they were taken to be slaves. Telcos is a small system consisting of only three planets. The main planet of Telcos is the most inhabited is the closest to the sun. Most Kytherian live on the two further planets of Vari and Wolen. Both planets are ice tundras know to produce a rich mineral known as Lorb, it is one of the main ingredients in their fuel. Harvesting it was always difficult for Telos who had to wear protective warming suits due to their cold blood. The Kytherian were the solution the warm blooded creatures survived much better in the cold weather. Life on the ice planets was hard enough, made harder by their work in the lorb mines. The Kytherian jumped at the idea of freedom, their hardness from generations of mining combined with the aid of the Foju led to victory. Technically they were made citizens of Telcos but they are still seen at second class citizens. While many stayed in the Telcos system and the mines many have ventured out into the universe.

Looks good to me! I am excited to see more! Have the Kytherian adapted to the arctic planets at all over the centuries?

They can survive in much colder weather than most humans and they tend to be on the shorter side due to spending so much time in the mines. Also they have very good night vision. A question I had is there a common language in the universe or are universal translator a thing?
