“Truthfully, I’m not quite sure. As far as I can tell, this is the first instance of inter-dimensional travel, perhaps ever. With the exception of course being hyperspace. Though that can be reached by technology, without the aid of the Force.” He paced as he talked, thinking.
“You may not be quite as stuck here as you think.”
That statement made her heart flutter with hope for a moment, but she pushed it down. She couldn't afford to hope too much. If she learned there was no way to go home after all... She didn't know how she'd handle that. IF she'd handle that. Again she looked over her shoulder at the forest and took a deep breath.
"...It's probably best we get out of here, no? Do you... Do you live around here?"
He stopped pacing.
“I have a small dwelling here, but I don’t quite live anywhere. I tend to keep moving, studying the mysteries of the Force as I discover them. My ship is…” he thought for a moment, before recalling where it was, “this way.” He said, setting off further into the woods.
Isabel studied him, a brief wave of concern coming over her as he seemed to momentarily forget where his ship was. She hoped her nerves were just getting the best of her, and she tried to shake it off as she followed after him.
"You called it... a starship, is that correct?"
“Yes, that’s right. A starship, spaceship, starfighter, whatever you’d like. They all really mean the same thing.”
Isabel nodded along, but that last term gave her pause. "...A starfighter?" she asked with a concerned frown. "That sounds... Will we be fighting anyone or anything? Are we still in danger?"
He gestured vaguely.
“There’s always danger in space travel, it’s best to be armed.”
"Armed? How does that even..." She frowned, her sentence trailing off. The only spaceships she knew of were manned and unmanned rockets, and the dangers she knew of had to do with the trip itself. Attacks were out of the question in her world. This was something new, and it was making her nervous. "...Where would we go?" she asked softly, trying to regain a sense of control.
“Wherever we want, however, I have some unfinished business on Daiyu. We may also be able to pick up any parts or tools you might need to rebuild your machine.”
Isabel took a deep breath and nodded. "All right... How-how far is that?" she asked nervously. The truth was, she'd rather go to a safe place and take a shower and just try to process all of this. The thought of going to yet another strange place, where she had no idea what to expect, frightened her.
