Chairman Urkk of the Board of Directors was in dire need of some excitement. He was the manager of all things prehistoric, appointed for his particular experience in that arena. Once a simple Neanderthal, he had been chosen (read kidnapped) by the Temp Agency to assist in the control of the Primeline, AKA, the truest version of events to happen. You see, when the Big Bang exploded the universe into being, it had also set out a burgeoning timeline. It is the sacred duty of the Temp Agency to foster this timeline, to keep it safe, secure, and free of parasites. Yes, time parasites. Nasty critters, always from the deepest, darkest corners of not-space that crawled out of the woodwork whenever a major event in the Primeline occurred. This brings us back to Chairman Urkk.

You see, very little major events happened prior to approximately 3,000 BCE. In Chairman Urkk’s honest opinion, it was mostly idiot apes banging together rocks and sticks. He himself was exempt from that judgement, of course. No other Neanderthal in the history of Neanderthals had been chosen (kidnapped) by the Temp Agency, though there was that cute Denisovan over in Human Resources…

Greetings, cadet, and welcome to the Temp Agency! This secret organization is responsible for keeping the Primeline safe, by any means necessary! You have been assigned to field work, one of the most exciting jobs available here at the Agency. You, along with a cadre of other agents, will be given missions to carry out for the good of the Primeline. And remember, if you fail, the entire Primeline could decay, sending our universe into a spiral of death, killing literal quadrillions of people across all of space and time! Happy travels!

So, a roleplay based on a clandestine, morally dubious secret organization dedicated to ensuring a certain set of events happen? Check. Time-traveling assassin-spies who can technically live forever, in a roundabout sort of way? Check. Predatory time ghosts that may or may not be made out of the decaying body of an all-powerful god, set on devouring all of space and time? Double check! Come on down to the Temp Agency and join us for an adventure through time today! Or tomorrow. Or yesterday. We’ll catch up with you.
