Default Looking for a main char for fantasy adventure game

Im back here for a long while and though to ask if anyone is interested to play fantasy game which world i have been working on some time by now.

The game is about young (human) man who discovers he may have gift for magic and after series of events like his home town being burnt and most its inhabitants eaten alive, he sets out to journey.
Also, not to make the trip easy the heavens are at war and both parties shows great interest towards this young individual.

This far I have no players for the game at all so the other characters can be specially at the beginning of the game considered as side / supporting characters.

If/when the game would go further there would appear goals like improve the status of orcs so they won't be lower class anymore or being persecuted, restore a kingdom, reunite with lost fiancé no matter if everyone says he is dead, find the truth about eternity, break the curse cast by a song... and of course end the war in heavens.

There's some that quickly came to my mind.

    Is magic common?

If magic is common, is it legal? Are the church or the kingdom going to come after him if they see his abilities?

Who sent the army and ate his village?

Is there something unique about his magic?

A prophesy that they'll face down a god in a final battle? Will a mystic appear to guide him? A Merlin to his Arthur? Or just a squire like Sam was to Frodo?

The magic is sort of common. Everyone knows it and "low level" daily magic can be practice by tools. (lit the fire, provide light, break items, treat minor wounds etc.) The problem however is that some of these tools can be pricy so the most commoners know the tools but cannot afford them.

The intermediate and advance magic and specially without tools require talented people called mages. Mages create the said tools and can do magic just as is.

The status of mage is little bit similar to a priest because most of magic is done by complex chanting (spell) where mage is requesting the magical power from the gods in exchange for his stamina/vitality. The most advance mage can manipulate his environment directly without such request chanting but this method is the most consuming for the body.

Aside of Mages there are seers who are like oracles following usually one element they have chosen and pass messages from the god of that element to the locals. Compared to normal mage seer is higher rank as normal mage cannot interpret the word of gods.

In game one such seer will join the party as the game advances long enough.

For humans there is Church of Celaros which acts as religious center. Like Rome for Catholics in medieaval era. Celaros Church governs as the highest human authority most of the mages and seers in most human countries. There are also countries who do not follow Church of Celaros thinking they are heretics, and vice versa.

For the PC, he is currently young man not detected to have any gift by now so showing talent of magic can be considered huge blessing to anyone. the depth of his talent however must be evaluated and he must then be educated appropriately which cannot be done in any backwater small town. Therefore his first goal is to the capital of his kingdom to test how capable he really is. Then depending on the results he can remain in service for the kingdom or even be sent to Celaros for further education.

Then about the village and uniqueness about his magic.
The village was destroyed by horde of beasts called Mezara or "wingless dragons". The guard captain and friend of MC was able to identify them but they are not from anywhere near the kingdom so he had no idea how such large pack of those things suddenly appear and attack them. During the battle MC performs some sort of fire based spell, as captain is able to tell and kills the alpha and thus causes rest of the pack flee. That's enough reason for him to send MC to capital for evaluation.
What he didn't know at that time was that MC was under "divine intervention" which is the start of the main storyline of the game.

    Forgot to add this
    The Gods of this game:
The magic is divided by 4 primary elements: fire, air, earth and water and 5th element which can be translated in English as "Life". In language of Magic and gods The names of this 5th element are Eltii and Keotei. Each of these elements have their corresponding world and each world is governed by a God of that primal element. Humans are living in the world of Earth. Also each element have two sides: "Liree" (Light) and "Dire" (Dark) making total 10 elements where any living being is by it's birth aligned to one. This alignment determines the persons or creatures physical and personal features.
ie. Humans why by nature are all born under Earth and branch the living "Light" (Liree) way are therefore born under Etlii element. Also when they are born they gain their personal element as their secondary element. For MC I would like to set this secondary as Fire.

Also each of these 10 elements have their corresponding "Mediator" 5 of them under Liree and 5 under Dire. These mediators are lesser Gods who are the actual ones mages try to reach when they are chanting the magical spell.

The necromancy kinda like exists in the game. Dead people are dead and cannot be resurrected but their bodies can be reanimated by opposite element "Keotei". In Gods language it also means life but for humans undead can be perhaps more descriptive, though still incorrect.

If you want more explaining about magic system I can make separate post about that.
