Fora frowned and hugged her friend close. "I'm so sorry, but why is that bad?" She asked her slowly and bit her lip. "That was kinda how I was raised up to be. The boy gets the dad's permission for everything." She said and started to rub her back.

"Not you too?!" Jill said, pulling away from her. "It's insulting! My dad doesn't get to decide for me whether I get asked to prom, or proposed to! It's medieval!"
Fora frowned a little and looked away. "He just probably wanted to know if it was okay. I think its romantic. I wish I still had my dad to make those decisions." She whispered and then bit her lip. "Maybe he was just raised up that way."
Jill dropped herself back on her couch, shaking her head. "If you're going to take his side, just go home!" she cried. "I wanted some support from my friend but apparently that's too much to ask."
Fora frowned a little and shook her head. "Would you rather me lie to you?" She asked her friend as tears came to her eyes. "Okay. This is the only place he is wrong at. He shouldn't have hid that from you and he should have talked to you before doing so." She said and then crossed her arms over her chest. "Do you still want me to leave?"
Jill cried into her hands and shook her head. "He went behind my back! He and my dad decided that he could propose to me and so he came here with a goddamn ring box in his pocket! I told him I wasn't ready but he wouldn't listen!"
Fora frowned a little. "Do you are telling me that now you are being forced to marry Jonathan?" She asked her and started to tap her foot. "If so that is messed up. But if not, why not be happy that he is ready to take that next step?"
"Because I'M NOT!" Jill cried out, standing up.
Fora nodded her head slowly. "Why aren't you? He is an amazing guy...." She whispered as tears rolled down her face.
"Because! You know what happened to my parents! They got married to young and they spent my entire childhood fighting," she said, hugging herself.
