Fora nodded her head and then sat on the couch. "That doesn't mean the same will happen with you and Jonathan. Plus no one said you have to have kids young."
Fora nodded her head and then sat on the couch. "That doesn't mean the same will happen with you and Jonathan. Plus no one said you have to have kids young."
"That'll just be the next thing he'll want to rush me into," she muttered, shaking all over. She was clearly so bothered by her childhood that she couldn't see that Jonathan might have meant well. That she and him could turn out different than her parents, especially because he had, secretly, been taking direct advice from her father. "I'm just going to break up with him. There's no other choice," she said, crying.
Fora sighed and bit her lip. "Why not just take a little break instead of breaking up with him? I know in the end you'll end up regretting it." She said to her softly. "Do you think he really meant to rush you."
"Why else would he refuse to listen to me?" she asked between sobs. "I told him so many times I didn't want to think about marriage until after graduation. He knew that. And still he conspired with my dad and bought a ring! He mustn't care about how I feel at all!"
Fora nodded her head and sighed. "Okay.... I understand you now." She whispered and then hugged her again. "Do you think breaking up with him is the best thing right now?"
Jill cried as she hugged her back. "I don't know... I don't know how to work this out with him."
Fora sighed and sat in silence for a moment. "How about you say yes to marrying him and then yall stay engaged until after college?" She asked, softly.
Jill shook her head. "It doesn't matter... I'm scared we'll say yes too soon. People change a lot during college."
She nodded her head and ran a hand through her hair. "Maybe just take a small break from him instead of breaking up? Then yall still have to be loyal to each other, but get time apart.
She sniffled and wiped her eyes, nodding. "I suppose... That could work. Gods, he's not going to take it well though..."
