Just then Fora was called back into the back. She stood up, letting a few tears fall from her eyes. Once she made it back into her room, the nurse started to try to do just the simple things before the doctor came in, like check her ears, throat, and blood pressure. Though Fora didn’t make it easy for her. She was flinching, swatting, crying, or letting out a small terrified scream the whole time. There was no way she could do this on her own again.
Sam frowned when he couldn't find her in the waiting room, and briefly pulled down his mask to try and pick up her scent. He slowly made his way through the corridors, and when he heard her screaming in a room to his right, he didn't hesitate to barge in. "Fora," he murmured and went over to her, taking her hands. He gulped a little, looking into her eyes intently. Every cell in his body wanted to bite her, but he refused to lose it. Not here, not now, and definitely not after what happened to him earlier. "I'm here. You're safe. You can do this."
Fora sniffled and looked up at Sam. Her eyes full of terror that got even worse when the doctor came into the room. She whimpered and hid her face in her arm, crying softly. She had absolutely no clue what was going to happen to her but she knew it needed to be done and quick. She couldn’t have Sam lose it right here.
Sam held his breath and looked at the doctor, stepping aside a little to give her space. He didn't let go of Fora's hands though, scared he might fail to keep his composure if he let go, and wanting her to know he was there.
"Hi, I-I spoke to you on the phone," he said softly to the doctor, keeping his gaze on her for now. "Thank you for... seeing us on short notice. S-She's very scared of doctors so please... go easy on her."
Fora whimpered as she saw him with a needle and started to try to pull away from Sam. “N-No shots…..” She begged him and started to look around. “What is the shot for?”
The doctor came over and hushed Fora softly. “We have to run some blood test on you sweetheart. So we are going to have to take a little bit. We did the same thing the first time that you came in.” He whispered and walked over.
Sam cursed under his breath and turned away, feeling his head start to spin. He didn't think he could do this. That needle would pierce her skin and he would... He shivered and squeezed Fora's hands. He had to hold on. He had to be strong, but he didn't know how.
Of course the doctor was too worried about Fora to pay any attention to how Sam was reacting to this. He slowly pressed the tip of the needle into her wrist and watched as her blood started to slowly fill up the tube he had.
Fora whimpered and closed her eyes, tears rolling down her face. Well if Sam could hold off, she would be mighty impressed.
Sam tensed up when he smelled her blood, and managed to hold himself back for a mere second before losing it. He let go of her hand and reached for the vial of blood, but the last bit of restraint he had left helped him redirect his grasp. Instead he plunged his hand into Fora's pocket where she kept her knife, and wrapped his fingers around the silver blade. He bit back a scream and cringed, but didn't let go. The pain would keep him grounded.
He only had to hold his hand there for just a few seconds before the doctor was done. He put a bandage of Fora and sighed. “We should have your results in by tomorrow.” He said and took the blood to put in a safe in the room. “Until then, go home, eat plenty of chicken noodle soup. That is the one that really makes a difference. Also, rest.” He told her softly.
Fora looked at what Jim had done. Normally she would argue about meat, but she couldn’t right now. “Yes sir.”
Sam held on to the knife until both the doctor and the nurse had left the room. Once they were alone, he yanked his hand back and stumbled backwards, away from her, holding his burning hand close to his chest.
"Are you... Okay?" he asked when he had caught his breath a little.
