Tulay listened to everything the woman had to say. She then slowly walked over and hugged her. “I’m sorry I didn’t trust you.” She whispered and started to sob into her shoulder. “I was just trying to protect us.” She said and pulled back enough to look at her face. “I don’t want to be a part of the covens. I just want to be free, but I can’t quit. It’s how I take care of Volcan.”
Eleanor was a little surprised when Tulay hugged her, but quickly gathered herself and hugged her back. She gently stroked her hair as she cried.
"Shh... It's okay, sweetheart," she whispered and looked at Tulay as she pulled away.
"Keith and I will protect you. They can't force you to do anything, Tulay. We can take care of Volcan together, another way."
Tulay sniffled and wiped her eyes. “I had to send my son away to a place. I have no clue if he even made it.” She sobbed and went to sit down at the table. “I’m a horrible parent. Maybe I should have given him to foster care.”
Keith frowned a little as he listened to the conversation coming from the kitchen. He shook his head and made his way to see if Emrys was up.
Eleanor sat down with her and took her hand. "No, Tulay. He needs you. Is there any way to contact him at that place?"
Emrys was still fast asleep, the tea from before having worked its effect on him.
Tulay sniffled and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “I could always try writing to where I think he is staying.” She told he. “Am I terrible for sending him away?”
Keith went over to Emrys and gently shook his shoulder. “Son, it’s time for you to get up.” He told him and opened up the blinds.
Eleanor shook her head and smiled at Tulay. "You sent him there to be safe. It's what any concerned parent would do."
Emrys groaned and covered his eyes. "Dad...? What time is it?"
Tulay nodded her head and wiped away her tears. “What are we having for breakfast?” She asked.
Keith chuckled and went to sit on the edge of the bed. “It’s the next morning. You two slept for a very long time.” He said and patted the bottom of Emrys leg.
Eleanor gave her a soft smile and poured her a cup of coffee as well. "What would you like?"
Emrys sat up and rubbed his face. "That tea of yours is no joke, then..."
Tulay shrugged her shoulders. “Eggs and bacon?” She asked and gave a charming smile, hoping they had that.
Keith chuckled and nodded. “How do you think I sleep so good?” He asked and stood up. “You really want to be in the Coven?”
Eleanor smiled back. "Sure. I can whip some up."
Emrys sighed and slowly got up. "I... I don't know, dad. I want to do my part. I have to. Especially now."
