Like a living fairy tale, a young Irish boy named Orion living on an island off the English coast found a dormant dragon egg buried in ruins. The last dragon egg on Earth bound to him and the immortal dragon spirit within made a pact with the child. He would gain its mastery over magic, and in return it would possess his body when he died. Orion found that while wielding the egg on his person, it could grant him the mythical power of dragons. His family soon grew concerned that he might need protecting, and they might need protecting from him. A little boy who could spout fire accidentally was a major risk to the house after all. They sent him to the United States of America where the government was paying to transfer gifted youths. There Orion moved into the Horizon city transfer student school.
Coming across other supernaturally gifted youths being recruited by the government, he soon met Rob, Erik, and Asca. They formed a secret club of heroes while growing up together at the school, fighting crime and protecting Horizon city in secret. By their college years, Orion and Asca had become a couple, and Robert had developed a secret lab for them all. They ultimately uncovered a cult of demon worshipers devoted to Deaborah, Archdemon of deception. The demon sought to possess the limitless power of the dragon, and the cult manipulated Orion and Asca into turning on each other in a ritual of heartbreak. When she scarred his face, the dragon and human merged into one. The cult also sabotaged Rob's lab leaving him for dead, and unleashed Erik's prophesied curse, unleashing him on the city. In the devastation that followed, the city was in ruins, the cult was defeated, and the heroes were all changed forever.

The Kuroicho clan is a mystical faction of kunoichi that protects its island home from the shadows. Something about her personally and bright colorful nature always undermined any attempts to behave with the level of ruthlessness and secrecy that her siblings had. The government was paying to recruit gifted youths to the transfer school in Horizon city.

Rob, as he was dubbed by Americans, managed to fix a broken laptop with no training. This prodigy was not even ten yet and he could learn anything and use any device masterfully in minutes. The Americans saw this potential and funneled their resources to have Rob sent to the United States of America to live a life with more potential in the Horizon city transfer school.
Coming across other supernaturally gifted youths being recruited by the government, she soon met Asca, Erik, and Orion. The cult also sabotaged Rob's lab leaving him for dead, and unleashed Erik's prophesied curse, unleashing him on the city. Rigel was mutated by spilled radioactive alien DNA that was killing him. However a history of tragedy had befallen all of her family, causing her mother to forsake the clan, and hide her daughter from them. This incredibly powerful gift was never properly made clear to Kimi and she could not suppress it. The villagers only knew of the tarnished history, and the child's strangeness, so Kimiko was condemned as a witch. Her mother in a last attempt to save her sent Kimiko away as a teenager to a paranormal testing institute and ran away.
Kimiko underwent a horrific childhood being a lab rat for a decade and more of testing, experiments, recording, and counseling. When her powers grew potent and dangerous enough, she was able to shut down the institute and escape, leaving behind her home and what few memories she had of her childhood before being locked away. Seeking the only one who was ever kind to her as a child, she traveled around the world to Horizon city to seek out Ascashi, her long lost soul sister, and deepest bond from her life. After reuniting, she met Asca's friends and quickly formed a relationship with Rigel whose genius uncovered her power as a technopath.
Despite developing a great new life, Kimiko and Asca were drawn home by the oni of vengeance Fukushu which would enact a prophecy to possess the kunoichi clans members. Discovering it was her family that summoned the oni to empower the clan, Kimiko enacted a ritual of sacrifice to stop it by joining spiritually with Asca. Everyone was heartbroken despite the victory, but Rigel went entirely mad and stole their DNA into space. There he used alien technology to clone her body with cyborg parts which lured her spirit back to the mortal world. Kimiko used herself as evidence of his miracle and the SLJ forgave his crimes. Fearing the curse that would consume all of civilization, his family sent him away from down under to the United States of America. The government payed to recruit many gifted youths to the Horizon city transfer school. Erik however was unhappy about his new life, feeling unfairly sentenced from birth and now a pariah to all who knew the myth. He soon used his powers to bully and terrorize others until he was outwitted by his future friends.
Coming across other supernaturally gifted youths being recruited by the government, she soon met Asca, Erik, and Orion. They formed a secret club of heroes while growing up together at the school, fighting crime and protecting Horizon city in secret. By their college years, Orion and Asca had become a couple, and Robert had developed a secret lab for them all. Now that the curse his lifted and his mind is restored, Erik must come to terms with living in a new world that was born from his destruction. Spoiler: Scarlett (Partner's OC)
History
Name/Title: Scarlett
Age/Maturity: Immortal
Gender/Sex: Pansexual Female
Race/Species: Demon Succubus
Abilities/Powers: Demonic magic, Shapeshifting, Soul stealing, Winged flight
Affliction/Weakness: Divine vulnerability, Lust dependent, Immoral
Equipment/Items: Demonic toys
Occupation/Job: Barkeep
Skills/Talents: Alchemy knowledge, Criminal knowledge, Demonology Infiltration knowledge
Despite the popular opinions of the SLJ, especially the religious sect, not all things of darkness are evil, and not all things of light are good. Scarlett holds this belief as the foundation of her motives and behavior. As a succubus, she is very familiar with the corruptibility of righteous beings, and the the misguidance of devout beings. Even her own infernal kind can be too much to tolerate, which is why she fled the hellish domains to hide out in the mortal realms. Once she was predictably summoned and bound by one such mortal using her true name, she quickly did everything in her power to break free from his magic, and destroyed any evidence of her name that she could find.
The metropolis of Horizon city called to her as an attraction to all supernatural beings, being the sister city of Sanctum where the SLJ was founded. Scarlett quietly moved into the city and took over a shady multi-business tavern. Rather than try and spread a noticeable influence of crime in the city, she used her services and talents to convince the local mortals to clean up the streets and clean up their act if they wanted a piece of her offerings. The neighborhood became a popular clubbing spot and heroic types from all over stopped patrolling here and started partying here. One such person was Taurius. After seducing him and finding he had more than enough energy and powerful friends to keep her satisfied, Scarlett was exposed just when she thought she had it made.
Being on the wrong side of the law and history all his life, Taurius did not begrudge her nature or actions, sympathizing with a demon refugee more than she could have expected. After introducing Scarlett to his friends, they agreed to let her secret remain as long as she continued to help the city and not kill anyone. The succubus gladly agreed and has made a point to give her new found friends her finest treatment for being in her good graces. In the years since, she has saved Asca from demonic possession, claiming these mortal companions as her own. As long as the demoness maintains authority over her city and her companions, they are protected from further demonic intrusions like the ones that have changed them so much already.

Far above the reaches of the rest of the civilized world, the dragon clan resides shrouded in the mists of the mountains north of the empire. Here they are free to focus on the pursuit of enlightenment, balance, and mastery over oneself by harness the power of dragons.
Togashi Xiaon is the most public figure of the clan, having spent most of his time away from the peaks of the mountains to travel the lands underneath. His youth was spent mastering the Kensai style of swordplay, especially showing talent for the clan,s Niten art of wielding two swords instead of one. When he was ready, he entered the tournament of champions for his clan and combined his years of schooling with his prowess in Kensai. After earning the title of Emerald champion, Xiaoen intended to remain by the side of the empress for a peaceful career before retiring. However the fates had other designs woven into the future.
When the forces of the Tainted lands threatened to overthrow the empire, Xiaoen was appointed the task of assembling a group to recover the legendary collection of relics known as the five rings. These could then be used to call forth the divine powers of the kami to banish the vile Oni driven hordes howling at the borders. Xiaoen had a personal stake as well, being called upon by prophecy to wield the lost Jade dragon's fang. In his journey, he has indeed found through matters of luck and fate a collection of warriors from across the clans. Now as they follow the trails leading to the lost jade weapons, and the five rings, they must learn how to overcome foes all around them, as well as the obstacles that lie within them.
Particularly of note is his relationship with fellow dragon clan member Natsu. They are both from the same clan yet have nearly opposite views on its philosophy and how to best represent it. In training and rivalry together, they have forged a bond out of the fire between them that began as sparking opposition and grew into burning respect for one another.
Spoiler: Kota
History
Name/Title: Kota
Age/Maturity: Thirties
Gender/Sex: Straight Male
Race/Species: Human
Abilities/Powers: Oni eye
Affliction/Weakness: Taint vulnerability
Equipment/Items: Stinger ninjatos
Occupation/Job: Shinobi
Skills/Talents: Demonology, Combat mastery, Infiltration knowledge, Maho knowledge, Ninjitsu mastery
In the shadows of the lower plains, the Scorpion clan lurks in the bogs and foothills of the empire. The well hidden but well known schools of the shinobi dwell somewhere here, teaching others how to use shadows and poisons and cunning to serve the greater good. While the rest of the empire maintains a strong clean public face, the Scorpion are proud to do what others refuse to in order to protect the security of their homeland.
Bayushi Kaikota was a keen initiate to the esoteric shinobi arts. Mostly in that he refused to make a fool of himself doing dramatic stunts that got many of his peers killed. Instead he learned the efficiency of toxins and venom which he had a talent for procuring on his own. The clan found his handling of vermin a bold skill and soon after his training moved Kota into the training with the secret sect of Maho assassins. The vile cult of Oni worshiping blood mages was the most critical threat within the ranks of the empire, and Kota was groomed to hunt them down, lure them out, and eliminate them if they would not be exposed or taken in peacefully.
The only problem with this sect was that they had close contact with Maho magic and it often caused either a short lived career that ended painfully, or a long lived career that lasted very painfully. Kota managed to retire alive which was a new record for the sect, after he uncovered and helped imprison an Oni that was leading a ring of Maho cultists. This haunting engagement left scars however, emotional and physical, which is why the clan saw fit to retire Kota lest he become influenced by blood magic. Now he serves as an inter clan ambassador for lack of a better title. When he was sent on a mission where Oni were reported in Crab clan lands, he came upon Takida and convinced the lost giant of a man to follow him on a journey to purge evil from the empire. This journey led them into Xiaon's company where Kota acts as the infiltrator and threat assessment expert.
Among the allies in the group, Sango of the Unicorn clan has grown infatuated with the senior shinobi and begun initiating in training with Kota in the shadow arts. The wildly free spirited woman has shown no fear of new or unorthodox training and has dedicated herself on her own journey to learning under Kota how to defend against dark magics and spirits.

Abilities/Powers: Animal empathy
Affliction/Weakness: Honorbound

Occupation/Job: Battle Maiden
Skills/Talents: Combat mastery, Ki-Rin secrets, Ninjitsu training, Riding mastery,
Across the far plains of the empire, the wind is fast, fierce and free. The Unicorn clan is equally fast, fierce, and free. After centuries of exploring and wandering in the name of the empire, the master cavalry of the empress returned home to bring back the wealth and exotic culture of the foreign realms they had seen. Though they stake permanent claim in the empire now, the Unicorn still travel and reach farther than any other faction with their wandering spirit.
Shinjo Sango is a rare exception of a Unicorn battle maiden who is not of the Utaku family. As such she is not bonded with one of the elite Utaku bred steeds, which most see as a lost opportunity, but she sees as a gained one. Sango seeks to find a steed of legend, one worth her place in history to honor her family. Though the clan prizes their horses, the world is full of incredible creatures after all. The young warrior is well trained in every regard despite this drawback, and she still holds iron clad command over any horse she straddles. Her journey to become a legendary exotic battlemaid has drawn Sango far from the Unicorn territories and into the midst of a multi clan war.
Sango travelled far to the capital of the empire and offered herself to the service of this war, knowing it would be perilous and take her far from home. Being appointed as scout for Xiaon, the emerald champion on a quest of his own for the empress, Sango leads the winding and wandering path of the group as they seek the legendary five rings to save the empire from shadowlands invasion. On this quest, the young battle maiden was greeted by a true unicorn and pledged herself as a worthy rider. Not with strength or tactical experience, but with purity and a kindred free spirit. Qilin accepted and acts as her steed in dire times. The mysterious pale beast however comes and goes as it pleases, and Sango must improvise other mounts otherwise.
During her travels, the youngest member of the group has become fondest of her time with Kota. The silent shadow of a scorpion intrigues the bright open spirit of the Unicorn, and she has sought to learn the ways of a kunoichi from the master shinobi. Despite his better judgement, Kota has taken the young maiden as an apprentice and teaches her the shadow arts when challenging encounters present the chance.

Equipment/Items: Jade Tetsubo
Occupation/Job: Witch Hunter
Skills/Talents: Combat mastery, Cooking training, Kami knowledge, Maho knowledge, Medical training
At the very western edges of the empire, the wild and corrupted lands beyond are held back by the towering defenses of the crab clan. With every waking hour being devoted to the survival and protection of the empire, their is little time for decorum and honor. Protection and profit are the only things that the crab excel at, because that is all they need to succeed.
Hida Takida was training as a Witch hunter, the elite Tsukai-Sagasu, with his mentor Kuni Khan from a very young age. His performance in defending a sector of the Great Kaiu wall when it was overrun impressed the elder witch hunter enough for him to demand he apprentice the large child. However despite his promising endurance against the taint of the shadowlands, and his mentors decades of experience, they were both defeated by an Oni which had overtaken a village. Takida was rescued by a Scorpion Shinobi named Kota, and together they managed to subvert the Oni, but not before his sensei was slain.
After Takida lost his guide down the path to becoming a witch hunter, Takida took up his scrolls and was determined to finish walking this path by himself. Kota the wily shinobi however convinced the large ronin to accompany him on his missions for the empire, which often included hiding within and dispelling the shadows of dark power. Takida was very naive, but very powerful and eager to prove himself after failing his sensei. He continued to study the scrolls of his lost lessons, trying to decipher techniques and master martial arts while following Kota. When they joined Xiaon on his search for jade weapons, Takida was the first to receive one as his own when they recovered the sacred Tama Jishin. Every strike could shatter not only flesh and bone but spirit and corruption.
Though Takida is loyal beyond all others, he is blind to his power without a sensei to reveal how far along he is in his training. At times he can be a clumsy ox with misfiring spells, and at other times he can be a storm of divine wrath. Kota continues to teach him the arts of discretion and finesse which have been lost to most of the crab clan.

Far above the reaches of the rest of the civilized world, the dragon clan resides shrouded in the mists of the mountains north of the empire. Here they are free to focus on the pursuit of enlightenment, balance, and mastery over oneself by harness the power of dragons.
The Hitomi twins were as opposite as Yin and Yang. But in a star crossed way that few could comprehend. Natsu was everything a father could want in a son, and Fuyu was everything one would expect of a daughter. This would have been perfectly acceptable if not for the fact the twins were of opposite genders. Fuyu the pacifist was as kind and gentle as a lotus petal, where as Natsu was as fierce and dangerous as a wildfire. While her brother was praised and oddly regarded for his intellect, patience, and nurturing nature, Natsu was constantly battling to be herself in her home. The family did not have patience for her destructive tenancies, firework fast temper, and passionate voice that openly spoke out of place.
When it was revealed later in life that Natsu had no instincts or desires of being a mother, or even a wife for that matter, she was sent away to the monasteries in the mountains to become a monk with her brother. This decision was made final when she revealed she did have desires for a priestess in the land. At the monastery she focused all her energy and frustration into her training. Where as Fuyu took his training in a graceful contemplative stride, she attacked it like a starving tiger. The monks themselves found her a worthwhile challenge and soon forged Natsu into a monk with troubling inner harmony, but outer skill and might that could crumble mountains. When her brother was injured and saved by Xiaon, the monk pledged herself to his service in repayment while Fuyu returned to the monastery to train.
Now on the open road, Natsu for the first time is finding herself not being locked up and her energy bottled tightly. The war ravaged empire was vast, exciting, and perilous. A perfect outlet for a burning trail to be blazed by herself. However Xiaon, her clan companion and martial partner, clashes with her at every turn. Yet this sparking relationship only seems to hone their unusual bond and Natsu prefers it this way.

While the largest clans horde the bulk of the great empire to themselves, the lesser clans have combined to form a new power that lives beyond the borders of the land. The mantis clan was molded together by the wasp clan inviting other minor families into its ranks and leaving behind the empire to explore the eastern seas. Out on the endless horizon of possibility, they colonize new lands in the name of the emperor, and master the fury of the storm.
Inari Suzume is from one such minor clan, the Fox clan has long held a special place in the exotic parts of the empire. When she was very young, Suzume found out that she had some of the infamous Kitsune blood in her heritage from her mother. This gave her the ability to see the spirit forest realm of Chikushudo and commune with animals. Her magic blood enabled the young noble girl to go beyond her future as a noble's wife and harness the power of the Shugenja. She ran away from home with her romantic affair at a young age and they set sail for the colonies overseas. A terrible storm destroyed her ship and everyone else was lost, while she absorbed the power of thunder itself. Unlike most mages who were bonded with one of the five traditional elements, Suzume found she was bound to Thunder magic, and used it to fly safely back to the empire shores.
Heartbroken over the loss of her love and a future of freedom, Suzume submitted herself to the servitude of the clan. Rather than punish her, the shugenja elders convinced the clan to send her away and use her gifts to aide the empire. Suzume was appointed to be the magical expert for Xiaon's quest. She learned of the fascinating magic powers that the other clans knew of, and they learned of her tragic past and unstable power. With the help of her new friends, Suzume learns to control herself and reconcile for the dishonor and tragedy she has brought upon herself. The group in turn learns about the realms beyond the mortal one as Suzume uses her enchanted sight to guide them with the aide of her spirit animals.
Although Suzume is by far the shyest and most hesitant of the group to make friends, she has grown fond of her time with this group of strangers led by Xiaon. What began as a burden to remove the weight upon her heart and conscience has become the best chapter in the shugenja's life.

From the meanest streets of the distant coast land cities, A synagogue besieged by gangs and crime lords fights back. Juda was burdened with divine purpose and it weighed heavily on him as he grew up with his brother. They carried an ancient secret from the holy land which allowed them to animate minerals and bestow them with a semblance of life. Juda used his golemancy to protect his family and neighborhood from gangs as a youth. When organized crime of a supernatural kind swept through the city, he and his brother David sought to rid their home of this new shapeshifting mafia. A younger hot headed Juda used his powers to help the mafia commit crimes and heists to get into their inner circles. When they tried to push him and his brother too far, they fought back with an army of golems made from the silver they helped steal. David perished in the battle, leaving Juda exiled for his crimes and failure to save his own family.
With the assistance of the FBI, the dangerous criminal youth was expunged of his records and transferred to a new college city of his choosing to try and rebuild his life. He moved in with a roommate named Jakota from a native reservation and took up a mechanics degree in the college. Little did they both know, each had a dark secret past as Jakota's tribe were also natural lycans. They discovered each others secret which caused the werewolf and lycan hunter to make hard choices. Like her cousin Jakota who already moved into town last year, Kasa can transform into an animal at will, and forcibly so during the full moon. Unlike Jakota who was trained as a shaman and has an inner beast of a bear, Kasa was trained as a hunter and has an inner beast of a wolf. Upon moving into the house that her cousin has rented for his time at college, Kasa encounters his room mate, a tall biker with a mysterious past known as Juda. Kasa soon begins investigating him since her cousin never bothered, and even gets romantically involved with the fellow rebellious biker in short time. She eventually discovers that Juda is a Golemancer however. But more then that, he has come to town chasing down a mob boss who is also a lycan, and runs his crime system in Dreambrooke now. When her crush rejects her, she becomes desperate enough that Willow is nearly ready to resort to magical potions, Kasa points out that her best friend Darcy has, in fact been secretly pining for Willow's heart all this time. Jakota has been taught the ways of his people, how to mend wounds, how to cure ailments, how to prepare food for both cooking and primal consumption. How to fight as both man and beast, against both man and beast. For Jakota and his tribe are shapeshifters Like his cousin Kasa, he is a natural lycanthrope and has been brought up to be a protector and chef for his tribe, as well as preparing to train in the mystical arts of shamanism. But for his dangerous modern views and antagonistic lack of care for upholding the rules of the tribe, Jakota was sent away to spend his time at the nearby college town until he got his act together.
Soon after moving into the big city, Jak moved into a local rental house with a new roommate who was also from out of town. Juda was relocated at the authority of the government, which was enough to keep Jakota from getting into his business, and letting the tall biker get into his business. They attended the college at Dreambrooke together casually until Jakota's cousin moved in with him. His younger cousin was also to attend the college, and quickly grew interested in a fellow biker and rebel like Juda. Despite his warnings, Jakota's cousin quickly became romantic with the strange roommate, and she soon revealed to him that he had been renting with a lycan hunter for over a year. Despite his reservations, they revealed their own secrets to him, and Juda revealed that he was a Golemancer, able to animate the inanimate.
As Kasa determinedly remained with her chosen mate, and gathered several other supernatural friends at the campus, Jakota continued his work with his culinary degree, along with his new foreign exchange friend Won. The large soon to be sumo star gets along great with Jakota as they have plenty in common. When Kasa accidentally turned her mate into a lycan, Jakota was furious and could only be placated by the pair of them committing to a proper cerimony with the tribe to make Juda a part of it. Her parents were murdered just months after her birth, leaving the orphan to inherit the wealth and fame left behind by her psychic father and ghost channeling mother. The pair had a once famous private investigative company that was stationed out of a book shop, and lived in a large manor which the only child now resides. Darcy learned early in life that she had both of her parents supernatural abilities, although her surviving next of kin did not understand nor accept these unnatural powers, nor the trouble it brought along. Not even the enticing offer of her parents massive inheritance could keep the troubled young girls family around long, and she was forced to spend her teenage life in an asylum for supernatural studies.
When the haunted girl came of age, she was quick to abandon every tie she had to any of the family that rejected her, and the social organizations that dragged her through an endless maze of mental hospice to try and treat her paranormal power. She moved back into her hometown manor and vanished for years before emerging again as a goth. Not just any goth however, one who had seized ownership of her families old business building, and had used her inheritance to rebuild the bookstore. When she began attending the world famous college, Darcy had already converted the private eye back half of the building into a night club that would easily continue to pay for her attendance through her class peers. Here she met another unusual outcast named Willow. Darcy quickly became tight knit friends with the hippie witch and loved her eccentricities. In fact Darcy quickly fell in love with Willow herself, only the fiery woman was blind to it as she chased after her crushes in the campus.
It was not until another new girl in town entered the scene named Kasa that things improved. The native woman bore her own supernatural secrets being a part of an out of town tribe of lycans. The girls quickly drew to the biker woman with a dark secret like moths to a flame, and Kasa soon sorted out their own hidden intimacy problems. Once the trio of friends had come to understand one another better, they became the closest of friends with each other, and Kasa's roomates, Juda and Jakota. Although Darcy continues to be haunted and possessed by unnatural spirits and visions, she sees clearer now than ever that she is not meant to live isolated in her manor with her dog Brutus. These friends may look unusual and unwanted by most others, but that only makes her want them lightening her dark life all the more.

When her family met with a family of hippies several generations ago, they traveled the nation and developed a druidic commune as they fled a history of being hunted and persecuted. The witches in Willow's family have always been light witches, with one major exception. Willow's mother and grandmother have long lost their powers after clearly making the choice to have children instead, and have passed the ancestral knowledge of witchcraft down through their spell book to the newest member of the magic family. When she came of age however, the young witch had no one to take her on as an apprentice at thirteen, and she later moved to a college town to pursue a normal education as well.
In the town with a reputation for supernatural occurrences, Willow was sure that she would go unnoticed and could practice her witchcraft in peace. She was swiftly noticed by another mysterious local girl named Darcy who had a sixth, or even seventh sense. The girls quickly became best friends being both outcasts from the sorority demographic in their collage, despite Willow having a crush on the lead of the Sorority house Sarah. After nearly a year without making many friends, a new girl named Kasa moved in whom Darcy quickly picked up on being a lycan through her psychic powers. The girls quickly became swift friends with the tattooed biker who moved in with her cousin and his room mate. Kasa having a keen sense of her own quickly realized that Darcy was in love with the young witch and helped Willow see that instead of chasing after crushes, she was already best friends with someone that noticed and loved her.
While Willow and Darcy were having their budding relationship, Kasa became close with her room mate Juda, whom she accidentally turned into a lycan. While adjusting to their new lives, and using their friendship to combat the towns monsters, Willows own past came to haunt her. The only dark witch in the family, her grand-aunt Marge Crannaple, hunted Willow down to make her an apprentice to dark magic. After hiding from her since she was thirteen, the young witch had to stop the most powerful dark witch in the hemisphere whom wanted to corrupt her gift so that she could take on a new legacy of dark magic. Her friends helped prevent the unkillable witch from stealing her and now Willow dedicates herself to learning magic with her new family of supernatural friends.

Although he cannot assume his throne as ruler yet, his father and mother have already gifted him with more than they ever started with. His father Corrik's divine blood has given Adrian a pair of angelic wings and impressive stature. His mother Olena used her most powerful magic to enchant his wings, turning them golden and making them indestructible as well as magic repellent. With these blessings to protect their noble child, they trained Adrian in the arts of being a paladin, and slaying vile dragons.
Once his training was complete, Adrian set out overseas on the word of truly awesome and powerful elder dragons threatening the world in distant realms. He brought along several of his youthful traveling companions, and met new ones on the voyage such as Karmin. Together the band of heroes formed a guild once they reached the war torn lands. The Order of the Green Flame was established to expressly build up an army trained and determined to hunt down the world consuming dragons. Adrian trusted in his martial training but soon found himself unprepared for the many obstacles and new problems this land provided. With the aide of his companions, they grew together and learned new skills to combat the dragons and their forces of chaos. On the path to hunting the monstrosities, they even recruited new members to their guild from the local creatures, including the likes of Bellona, Jackolin, and Jasper.
After bringing down the first of the elder dragons, Adrian was able to use their incredibly powerful materials to forge a bow worthy of accompanying his legendary sword. Adrian trained with Karmin to become more than the sword master his father taught him to be, using his wings and bow to become an aerial nemesis. Now demons, dragons, spirits, and all forms of evil would not be safe in the skies from the relentless prince. With more elder dragons yet cowering in the worlds dark corners, Adrian sets off with his guild to carve out more victories for the light than both of his parents combined. Her orphanage beseeched the queen to have her sent to the leading authorities of magic to help guide her growth, and thus she was gifted a trip to the sacred floating shores of the celestial empire. Here she was discovered by the founding empress herself, Olena Pendragon. Recognizing Llorena's devotion to natural magic, she took a personal interest in her training and care.
Things seemed to be going well for the empresses apprentice, until her ambition and curiosity out shined her sensibilities. She and several other apprentices snuck into the artifice vault, where Llorena was beckoned by a cursed gemstone of legendary power. It fused itself into her skull and split the young mages mind and power while enhancing both beyond compare. When the other apprentices escaped the near death experience of her accident as it unleashed torrents of magic into a volatile vault, they brought the empress to help subdue Llorena before she killed others or herself. When she recovered, the archmages found she had a split personality now, and being the first mage to survive bearing the primordial gem, could channel two elemental forces without any seeming limit.
Llorena was deemed to unsafe to keep with the other apprentices at the academy, and was thus sent away to attempt mastering this new power, and regain control of her mind. Olena had her accompany her own son Adrian Pendragon, who was setting out to return overseas and found a guild to slay deadly elder dragons. Llorena's massive power would prove vital to countering the power of the dragons, who wielded the forces of nature and infused their minions with it. As she attempts to tame her mind and her magic, she must continue to learn when not to use it as well as when to overuse it. With Adrian's help, the Order of the Green Flame was established, and Llorena became the tactical expert in countering magic.

The only survivor of a truly tragic night for the White tree. Jackolin's orchard was corrupted by the fallen of his kind, and all thought he had died before being born like the rest of his orchard. However, stepping forth from the death and rot of his pod, this Sylvari was born not of growth but decay, and he unleashed a plague of spores upon those that destroyed his orchard, the Nightmare court. The dark plant beings saw his power however, and instead of retaliating they recruited him, convincing Jackolin that he was one of them. They learned of his powers be sending Jackolin to spread the court's influence and seeing what he could do to those that stood in his way.
Jackolin has a connection with fungus and spores, but like them requires the essence of life to fuel his power. He drains that life from his victims and in turn unleashes plagues of spores, toxins, and rotting growth which further kill and decay. Jackolin has learned that in the cycle of life, he is a rare member in the role of death. While most Sylvari foster growth and birth and blossoming life, he feeds upon the abundance of life around him, which in turn creates fertile grounds for new life to come. When the Nightmare court tried to turn him upon his own kind instead of outsiders which had entered their forests, he met Bellona.
The vibrant and glamorous mesmer faced him down and charmed Jackolin with her magic and wiles. She managed to stop the necromancer's march of decay upon the White tree and convince him that he was not made to harm hid own people. He was not a weapon for the Nightmare court, but a child of the White tree as well. In time Jackolin became convinced that he was made for more and joined his people in repelling the Nightmare court. Being immune to their toxins, dark magics, and frightful influence, he was instrumental in destroying the blighted Sylvari before they could corrupt the White tree any longer. Together with Bellona, they joined the Order of the Green Flame, a dragon hunter guild that sought to end the elder dragon that was creating the corrupt Sylvari.
Spoiler: Bellona
History
Name/Title: Bellona
Age/Maturity: Twenties
Gender/Sex: Nonsexual Female
Race/Species: Sylvari
Abilities/Powers: Flora body, Illusion magic, Mirage clones
Affliction/Weakness: Emotional manipulation, Fire vulnerability
Equipment/Items: Soul mask
Occupation/Job: Guild officer, Mesmer
Skills/Talents: Artistic, Cooking training, Combat training, Infiltration knowledge, Magic knowledge, Survival training
A fresh sprout from the White Tree, a hub for a newly growing race of plant like beings, Bellona has been blessed with stepping into the world from her orchard on an eclipse. This rare solar fluctuation has imbued her and those who entered the world with her on that day with unique mystical gifts and a dual perspective that gives her great insight. Bellona is on the whole a happy and bubbly Sylvari with a skip in her step and a bounce in her voice as she trains her gifts into powerful and mysterious arts. Like all born with the illusive powers of a Mesmer, her ability to convince others of whatever perspective fits her desires is both useful and dangerous. Her magic is even more so as she can seemingly alter time and space to those who fall under her spell.
Walking the path of both light and shadow means that Bellona must learn to wield her abilities with a good heart and a strong mind. The most perilous thing to a Mesmer is themselves, as such control over seemingly anything and anyone can lead a heart to the nightmares of dark deeds for selfish reasons. Bellona has found that the best person to confide in about her problems is herself, being able to blossom illusionary clones of herself at will. She can project several parts of her mind at once and coordinate entire tactical strikes on her own, so long as she does not end up fighting with herself or second guessing herself. This has given her the unique position of playing several roles on a team at once, and being a one woman reinforcement crew. Thus when she joined a guild known as the Order of the Green Flame, she was given several times the pay.
During her time with the guild, Bellona has encountered a dark Sylvari known as Jackolin. This necromancers pod was corrupted by the cult of cruel Sylvari known as the Nightmare Court, causing him to come into the world as a seed of growing death. Bellona saw his dark side on the surface, but also saw the true Sylvari underneath and convinced him to join the guild rather than continue serving his twisted teachers. The two young and troubled beings keep each others conscious honest, and their powers in check as they have found a need for each other beyond friendship. They know that the cycle of life demands both fruitful growth, and renewing death in order for the garden of life to prosper.

The winds move through the sky scraper sized jungles of the Canopy tribe like currents move through the ocean. The sisters of the tribe have learned to move with the winds rather than against them. To travel where the wind takes them and never look back. The only thing they value is the pride. Those they hunt and live and travel with are all they need to live a happy life. The great feline prowlers they share affinity with are as close as siblings and children to them. To harm or even threaten one member of the pride does the same to the entire pride.
This is why Kaira travels alone with only Zabor by her side. When she would not submit to the dominance of another, when she fought back and crippled another member of the pride, she was exiled. Although the evidence was clear and her actions justified, tribal law demanded that she must travel apart from the pride for hurting a part of it. The elders would not lose such a member who showed such potential, and was the daughter of one of their leaders to say the least. Thus Kaira was given a new purpose, to explore far from the pride and discover in the name of the Canopy tribe.
Even though she is by law an outcast, Kaira performs her duty with pride and enthusiasm. Scouting the lands ahead to make sure they are safe for her pride to settle, exploring the secrets of the world around it for treasures and dangers unseen, and hunting with her trusty Flamestripe to collect trophies which the tribe values as currency. She may not be welcome among her pride, but her deeds are what keeps them safe and brings them prosperity. This power has a high cost however. She has no control over when these sleeping visions come, and they overwhelm her at any time, sending her into a coma. Whats more, many of the tribe view her as a thief of knowledge, seemingly taking without consent or trade. This has made her a target of many in a tribe of cold blooded hunters and assassins. Sybil does not need visions to see that she will not live long among her own people, so she sets forth on a perilous pilgrimage. She must find a place that will accept her on her own, and even help her with her curse is possible.
The valley of rivers is not a place for even the wary and trained to let their guard down however. Let alone one who suffers from paralyzing comas and is traveling alone without anyone knowing where she is. Sybil must seek out trustworthy souls that can handle the perils of the savage world. Following her dreams blindly, she seeks out face sand places shown to her, hoping that this will lead her to a better fate than the one waiting for her back home.

From the worshiped dragyns and wyrms atop the peaks to the thundering behemoths and tyrants roaming the hills, the Mountain tribe is a domain of brutality and hunger. The laws of the tribe and its lands are simple, eat or be eaten, kill or be killed. Nothing matters more in this savage world than whether you are predator or prey. That is why Devana is the best, and why even the bloodthirsty raptors listen to her. She knows her position, and keeps with by taking down anything that threatens her authority. Devana is the most fearsome thing she has ever met, because she has killed anything that may seem more fearsome than her.
With her family long since slaughtered, Devana raised herself as an orphan among saurons. Forgotten and forsaken by her fellow Zonians in the aftermath, she learned to live like the raptors that hunted her family down, and became their master when she killed their leaders. Now the packs follow her command, and she ensures they approve of her by doing everything they do. Including and especially devouring anything they catch, even Zonians. Devana may be an outcast and berserker to her tribe, but they cannot deny her effectiveness and ability. She may have no honor, and may have no limits, but she also has no room for failure.

Devana knows she will always be alone among Zonians, so she would rather be together with her pack.

Midknight Chronicles
Spoiler: Alrauna
History
Name/Title: Alrauna
Age/Maturity: Twenties
Gender/Sex: Straight/Female
Race/Species: Anomaly
Abilities/Powers: Plant control, Plant manifestation, Regeneration
Affliction/Weakness: Emotional manipulation, Fire vulnerability
Equipment/Items: Veridian armor
Occupation/Job: Botanist
Skills/Talents: Alchemy mastery, Combat training, Plant knowledge, Radiation knowledge
Alrauna was part of the latest generation of born-in-house scientists in the future when her colony was discovered and raided by monsters from the surface world digging for salvage. The massacre left her colony destroyed and her left for dead in a destroyed lab. Being engulfed in a sea of radioactive waste, plant matter, and experimental materials mutated her body and reincarnated the young scientist as a force of verdant vengeance. Now she only had one thing left to live for, a journey to the surface world to thank the raiders for giving Alrauna her newfound form and powers.
Midknight crossing the wastelands discovered the dryad like mutant in the middle of her bitter killing spree of the town the monsters were occupying, where he had to step in and intervene. After the battle, and helping her sort out who and what she needed to take her spite out on, Alrauna was left with nothing to live for, and accepted Midknight's invitation to journey with him to the east coast. Her powers not only include being able to wield radioactive weaponry grown from her own form, but the ability to grow and control plant life. She has even been accepted by the surviving fey peoples as one of their own sisters.
Alrauna's new form looks rather terrifying and vicious by most human standards, so she actively covers herself in petal soft skin and hair to fit in and show how she once looked. The more of her power she raises up and uses however, the more of this disguise she must let go of in order to concentrate. Whenever she must expose herself, she is filled with bitterness and flies into a rage against nearly anyone staring at her. This is problematic for Maxime, another comrade of Midknight's inner circle who endlessly pursues Alrauna no matter how viciously her thorns are bared at the hopeless romantic.

Lucas appears for all intensive purposes to be a normal human, albeit one with amazing physical limits, and a serenely unshakable demeanor that seems incapable of showing unstable emotions. He approached the Nightbreed when the ancient vampiress Lucy, and her lifetime companion Joan were in trouble in the wastelands. Lucas proved to be a savant expert on technology, able to repair Joan's broken cyborg leg and help her rejoin the fight. During the same battle, Lucas displayed his own powerful enhanced limbs with steam fueled boots able to perform incredible leaps and kicks like Joan's one leg. His arms are inhumanly powerful, using mechanized clockwork to crush and grip like a vice.
During the battle against the horsemen Death, Lucas revealed himself to be immune to Death's powers, showing no ability to be afraid, or suicidal like other mortals plagued by Death's shadow. When his flesh was being destroyed by Death's touch, more machinery was revealed under the living, bleeding muscle. Lucas was actually an android created to appear human on the surface all along. Not even he knew this about himself until after the battle. Lucas in fact knew nothing about his past, only that he had an unending need to find someone he assumed was his long lost brother.
Once the horsemen was vanquished, Lucas upgraded Joan's steam rifle, and offered to serve the Nightbreed as head mechanic if they would help him find his long lost brother. Ever since then, the benevolent android has been on Midknight's good side, and held Lucie's gratitude for taking care of her companion Joan. Some day soon, Lucas hopes to discover his true origins, and who he has been programmed to seek out.

In the time between supernatural encounters, she was sent to an orphanage and ran away, not that anyone cared to stop her. She then spent her youth in a cyborg street gang known as the Junkers. They convinced her to participate in thievery, arson, and other vandalism to supply their surgical addiction.
When Joan was caught in an arson fire, the gang left her to die, but she was able to escape being buried in the burning building by cutting off her leg. Even after the gang replaced her leg and hid the new cyborg limb under synthetic skin, Joan never trusted them again and soon abandoned her false family, going out on her own to rob people by posing as a house maid. In a twist of fate, she took a job one day to be a maid for the vampiress Lucy, who caught her trying to steal.
Rather than kill the imposter maid, Lucy kept her and found out Joan had as many useful skills as good looks. Joan's hidden leg was a powerful surprise in many situations, and her skill with a gun was better than even Lucy's. After experiencing the charms and hospitality of her mistress, the feisty maid found herself truly affectionate and loyal to Lucy when the ancient undead huntress actually saved her from dying to a monster. Proving that this creature had more humanity than any human Joan had ever lived with. In the far future, Midknight has now fully recovered his identity from his distant past at the dawn of humanity. Kotaishi Mayaonaka was born into the lost and earliest of Asian dynasties. In the early days of humanity, the forces of hell created and unleashed a weapon to corrupt mortal souls and turn them to evil before they could even die a natural death. This being would become known as Dracula throughout many of its lifetimes. In order to counter this weapon, the leaders of the heavens would not break the sacred truce by interfering directly, but they would set a trap for the rampaging monster.
They made a divine visitation upon the emperor, and Mayonaka was the blessed result. When Dracula's invasion inevitably made its way east, he encountered the Kotaishi who was fighting back against the vampiric army. In the ensuing duel, Dracula naturally tried to bite him and turn him, but the angelic soul inside destroyed the tyrant along with his wounds. Mayonaka seemed to die from his injuries, but the result was far more catastrophic than any being could have predicted. The demonic blood of Dracula infecting his corpse tried to turn him into a vampire, and wrestled with the divine blood of his heritage.
The result was an anomaly unlike anything heaven or hell could fathom. Over the course of millennia after millennia, the resurrected man wandered the Earth, rediscovering his origins while also discovering the truly limitless horizons of his power. Now known only as Midknight, wielding the only sword that could permanently kill him, and harnessing all the power of heaven and hell, he rejects both just as he has been rejected by both and chooses instead to fight them back and give humanity room to grow.
