First Rule of Fight School, don't fail Fight School

    Name: Kairi Hisane
    I.D. Number: 23407812
    Rank: C3
    Year: 1st Year; Transfer
    Nationality: Japanese
    Age: 15
    Sex/Gender: Female
    Spoiler: appearance

    Fighting Style: Keysi Fighting Method

Powers: Keratin Pincushion - Kairi has a large number of short keratin spikes embedded in her skin. If she desires, she may extend these up to 2cm outward as a means of defending herself from attack. While one might think this injures her, the spikes are sheathed within her skin and covered by a thin flap of tissue when not in use. As such, when they are not extended, she appears perfectly normal. These spikes cover her body at a density of one per square inch except in sensitive areas such as the inside of the elbow, back of the knee, and private regions.

    Spoiler: Example (This is exaggerated)

Personality: Far from an average lady, Kairi has a rough, tomboyish behavior. It shows itself more through things she enjoys, including a good fight. She's one of those types of girls you'll either enjoy having around or feel she's an annoyance at times likely. Invasive and uncaring for some personal security, she can be blunt but she'll always have something to smile about in the end. Overall she can be as kind and honorable as anyone else but pique her interest in a good or bad way, that can change from person to person.

Background: Of Japanese descent, Kairi grew up in the States, more exactly in New York. Living in a decently well-off middle-class family, her mother worked as a lawyer as her father was a chef. While she did alright in school, socially there seemed to be an issue. As plenty of schools, a social hierarchy usually stems into existence around middle school. Because she didn't seem to click with most girls, she was eventually shunned as unpopular despite her lively attitude. Though, after a fight with a boy, that all changed rather swiftly. She was 11 when it happened, during 6th grade in school. She was defending a rather timid and shy girl from a bully that wouldn't back off and being a young kid as they were, their first notion was to throw a punch.

She only knew how to fight because she found herself in awe of what she saw in the recent Batman movies Christian Bale had starred in. With some convincing of her parents and the fact she had plenty free time after school, her parents set her up for lessons with whomever instructor they could hire for a set time. Through all that would happen, Kairi kept up with it up until present day, 3-4 years of experience.

Back to her fight with the young boy, it was her first fight ever, but it'd soon look to change how things went afterwards. It was during that fight she learned of her power. After rubbing her own jaw from taking the hit, she saw the boy standing still in a frozen shock, holding his hand like he hurt himself. She could see in his eyes that it was fear, and he wasn't the only one. Two others that were with him were gawking like a bunch of dopes before they started calling her names, screaming out. Freak was the most common.

The utter rejection she'd eventually deal with for being so different from everyone eventually changed her. She'd actively look for a fight if she could, usually targeting anyone that was an ass of themselves. Though, with how things turned out, she'd usually be the one to become at fault, even if in her own eyes it was for an understandable cause. Still, it didn't change the point that she was becoming a delinquent in the eyes of society, let alone a so-called 'freak.'

After graduating 8th grade to head into high school, her parents were worried how things would pan out in High school. High school was one of the more impressionable years that delinquent activity and other factors can come into play that would make it harder on Kairi to adjust to, let alone being a teenager. Doing some research, her parents eventually came across New Peaks Academy. The concept of it looked promising to help their daughter and they did whatever they could to set up her transfer to it. Being of a middle-class family, it was difficult but through plans and explanation, Kairi obtained a scholarship to attend with the 'Talented Teens' program. With what her parents explained to her, Kairi agreed and actually found it pretty interesting. Maybe there she could fit in and fight without any trouble.

@TheDoctor: You're approved for both characters once you make a small edit to Isabella. Tournaments are not optional. Since she was a student at the beginning of the year, she would have been eliminated in the preliminary rounds and not been a part of the final sixteen.

    @Detective Zero: You're approved.

    Adding everyone to the roster.

Aw to heck with it, why not.

    Name: Ilya Dyatchkina
    I.D. Number: 04191775
    Rank: B-1
    Year: Sophomore
    Nationality: Czechoslovakian
    Age: 16
    Sex/Gender: Female
    Theme song: Fourarms-Broughton
    Spoiler: Bear with me...

    Fighting Style: Boxing-8 years experience

Powers: Four Arms-not a power per se, but a unique 'deformity' she carries. This extra pair of arms function just as well as her normal ones, and can be used seamlessly in combat. She can use two arms to block and two arms to attack constantly, meaning the punches never cease around this girl.

Personality: Ilya has little experience with interacting with others. In fact, it was her choice to join New Peaks in order to come out of her shell more. A sheltered life simply is not for her. Still, she doesn't know much about making friends, and is extremely self-conscious about her extra appendages. She keeps them hidden as much as she can, but can only do it so much. When she has to have them out, she gets extremely nervous and can have a hard time focusing.

In combat, she becomes no-nonsense. Combat has always been her way of relieving frustration and tension, and pulls no punches (no pun intended). She fights fairly but brutally; from opening bell to the final blow, she is all-out, all the time. She doesn't believe in pulling one's punches, even in sparring matches; bruises build character, after all. But after a fight, she is always more than willing to help her partner get better, so long as they will help her as well. And keep in mind...the times she has to improvise, watch out for her legs. She knows people focus on her pythons when she fights...and just in case, she NEVER skips leg day.

Background: Birthed as the last attempt to salvage a marriage between a Czech man and a Slovak woman, Ilya Dyatchkina was a spoiled child from the word go. Her father was determined not to allow her birth defect to impede her ability to succeed in life, nor did he want her to be sad; as such, he showered her with praise and gifts for everything she did. Her mother, a more level-headed, frugal sort, knew the key to her social success was confidence.

Her mother noted Ilya could use her four arms to her advantage in sports, so at the tender age of 8 she sighed Ilya up for a peewee boxing club that took place down at the local gym. Ilya excelled at the sport, finding a natural talent beyond her...natural talent. She was quick to improve; by age 11, most of her opponents weren't much of a challenge. Granted, she DID have a somewhat unfair advantage. Ilya took great pride in her ability, but never showed it; Ilya had frustrations to work out, and boxing was her outlet.

What frustrations, you may ask? At age 6, the marriage could last no longer. Fed up with her husband's spendthrift ways, Olga Dyatchkina divorced her husband, moving back to Slovakia. The courts were a mess, awarding joint custody, trading off every three months. With such an awful ruling, Ilya was forced to be homeschooled, losing what little contact she had with other children her age.

With more frustrations than ever, Ilya put all her heart into her training. By age 13, she had won the Czech/Slovak Junior Boxing tournament and found acclaim in the fighting community, and her future was in question. Was she going to focus entirely on boxing, or try to have a career? And what of her family? She had two private tutors, one in the Czech Republic, one in Slovakia, giving her the same advice: Go for broke, join the professional circuit. But Ilya felt sheltered. She knew very little of social interactions, and wanted to try and make friends that weren't just trying to latch onto her sports success.

With this in mind, she asked her dad to send her to New Peaks. There, she couldn't be coddled by her family or pressured by the media. She would just be another (four-armed) body in the crowd, and she could just be herself. Her father, an oil tycoon, easily paid the high tuition, and Ilya soon found herself on her way, ready to make her own life for herself.

    Fighting Style:
Krav Maga, informally trained with the skills of a Brown Belt

    Powers:
    None

    Theme Song:
    Remedy - Seether

    Personality:
Cyst is what many consider to be an enigma. Because of her inability to speak, she very rarely expresses her intentions or feelings to anyone outside of her fighting. To what little people actually do know her on a personal level, she is curious and rather shameless, not caring about social standards or attempts at fitting in. She wants to know the world around her as well as she knows herself, and is willing to go to great lengths to do so. She can come of as a bit brusque, and that's because she is. Even with her little quirks, she really does try to be friendly. Nothing excites her like meeting new people, with the possible exception of fighting new people.

    Spoiler: The Story so Far

    Background:
Cyst didn't live in luxury. In fact, she was poor. Her family was incredibly poor before she was born, and her coming along didn't change that. When it was discovered his wife was pregnant, her father almost immediately stole all his wife's money and fled to america. Cyst lived most of her life without a name. She was unregistered, hidden from the government to keep rent cheaper. Shortly after her mother turned to alcoholism, she was named Cyst because that's what she was, to her mother. A cancer.

She lived on meager scraps and small amounts of water, never leaving the house for fear of punishment. One day, her mother finally snapped. She set fire to the house and trapped Cyst inside. The girl was eventually able to make her way outside, breaking open a window and falling into the cold snow. But unfortunately, her lungs were heavily damaged as a result, making her unable to speak. She was eventually able to mostly recover, but her voice never returned to her.

She soon found treatment. A free clinic that helped her to live through the smoke inhalation. She had problems keeping her stamina up at first, but soon learned to work through it. She lived in the streets with the rest of the unwanted children, figuring out how to survive off of nothing but her wit and her intuition. She was discovered by an aging ex-soldier who took her under his wing. He taught her how to fight off those who wished to harm her, giving her the basis for the Krav Maga she would learn to master.

After that she earned her money by participating in illegal fight clubs, perfecting her fighting skills and her natural speed. It also helped her with her stamina, as the exercises she had to do to participate in these fights were great physical therapy. Soon she was well known enough that the Fight School was contacting her about attending their school on an outreach program. She took the offer, of course, but wanted to say goodbye to the man who originally taught her to fight, first.

She left Russia with her last memory being his corpse slumped over in an alleyway, dead from the cold that claimed so many others. Another faceless victim. She didn't cry for him. She knew it would happen, some day. What she had to focus on was what was in front of her. Now, attending this school, she didn't only have the weight of her future on her shoulders. She had the weight of his spirit.

She would be damned if she let him down.

I might join in soon. Might want to make an NPC, as I never really got into a fighting thing.

Then this is the RP for you. It can be just as much a school for the players as it is for the characters they make. I am no stranger to helping out those not familiar with RP Combat, and I am sure at least one or two of my more experienced players would also be more than happy to help you learn the ropes. We won't beat your character down mercilessly because you're unfamiliar with fights in RPs. Quite the opposite, in fact.

As such, I encourage you to give us a shot. If you decide it isn't for you and choose to take your leave, there won't be any hard feelings... but as Wayne Gretsky once said: You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

    Name:
    Amaltheia Stavros

    I.D. Number:
    19964053

    Rank:
    B-1

    Year:
    3

    Nationality:
    Greek

    Age:
    16

    Sex/Gender:
    Female

    Appearance:

    Fighting Style:
    Pankration

    Theme:
Here We Go - Theory Hazit

    Powers:
The Shield of Aegis - Creates a wall of energy that will take one strike from an enemy before collapsing. Can be created to cover the entire frame of Amaltheia's body, but will not bend. She can move it at will and her own strikes will not collapse the wall.

    Personality:
Amaltheia has always been a proud girl, both of her natural prowess and of her family, as well as her people's history. No matter the current state of Greece, she will always talk about it's past with the utmost respect and pride. She's jolly and fun-loving, never really down on anyone, least of all herself. She always tries to be supportive to her peers, but her pride will not let her forgive a shameful display of combat. She will always prioritize honor to friendship, and friendship to duty or service. She will not stand any insult to her honor, the honor of her family, or the honor of her people. What exactly such an insult is, however, is determined by her and her alone.

    Background:
Amaltheia was always better off than her peers. Her father was a master of Pankration and had several dozen tournament wins under his belt (or lack of one). As such, he made much of his money teaching others the ancient art of combat. She was taught from her father at a young age, catching men larger than her in Achilles holds at the age of twelve.

When it was discovered she could manipulate the earthly energies around her, her parents were delighted. They knew that she could bring their family much success, out in the world. They knew that her place wasn't training in their basement with her father. It was out on the world stage, fighting for the glory of Greece. They sent her to New Peaks without regret or second thought, and she went without any such thoughts, as well.

On her first day, she got into three unsanctioned fights with three different sophomores over three different insults to her family and her heritage. She won two of the fights. The third was with Shotaro. After beating her beyond a reasonable doubt, he introduced her to the Imperius Gloria, and started a friendship that would last for years to come.

Today, she stands as an officer of the Imperius Gloria, as well as one of the best Pankration practitioners at New Peaks (by default). She lives at the school full time and writes to her parents frequently, often exaggerating her good fights and downplaying the few bad ones she has. She is known and respected, held in high regard by her teachers and peers, and is proud that she can say that nobody has insulted her honor quite yet.
