Name: Doctor Lumen Laelius Lucianus
Species: Mixed Blooded, Human and Reptile.
Age: 25
History:
Those born within The Empire can count themselves as blessed.
Those born within Giredania proper can say they are doubly so.
But the brightest blessings cast long shadows.
Lumen Laelius Lucianus was born into this world the happy and healthy son of a bright and well respected Physician, Laureate Lucianius. Though born a member of the lower class the importance of physicians and doctors cannot be understated, especially travelling physicians like Laureate.
The birth of her fatherless (As anyone who used the word ‘bastard’ within earshot of her found a fury as terrible as the Calamity) and unusual son put a stop to these travels.
Laureate settled into a clinic within Opalli with its high ratio of warriors, who had a proportionally higher number of injuries, diseases, and birth rates respectively.
Lumen was assuredly human, but different enough to be targeted as he grew. His blue slitted eyes and patches of white scales could not be obscured, and as a boy he found it difficult to fit in amongst other children who were easily intimidated by Lumen’s draconian appearance.
Oddly enough, it was the warriors and veterans who were the most friendly to Lumen, and he grew to know several quite well.
Rather than fear his unique appearance, they lamented that they could not have such striking and fierce features.
This was, perhaps more than anything the most important development in Lumen’s early life. They
showed him that a man should be confident, and assertive.
In response for being taken care of, Lumen began to take after his mother, taking care of warriors with minor injuries with the instruction of his mother.
Time passed, Lumen grew into his features which became less menacing and more of an oddity. He tended to broken bones, cuts, and gained knowledge in trauma treatment that could even rival his mothers though his knowledge of other areas of medicine was still very much in development.
At the age of Fourteen, after the first phase of what was proving to be a very non-standard puberty, Lumen’s mother sent a perhaps too young boy to the Capital of Girdania to continue his study of medicine and round out his knowledge in other areas.
He excelled in his studies, but as each year came he was becoming increasingly aware of the heavier and heavier weight of that awful word, like a curse:
‘The Calamity’
What it meant for him, especially as a titled Physician like his mother was unclear.
What was clear however, was the bulk of the weight rested upon the shoulders of a King he’d never seen, and the warriors who supported him, many friends he’d made in his mountain home of Opalli.
He arrived in the Cloud City of Sira-Se, entering its Military Academy and continuing his studies of the finer aspects of medicine; triage, chemical substances and their creation through alchemy, surgery and the uses of Magic in providing care to the sick and injured.
His studies in the martial were average at best, though this education also allowed him to refine some of the dirtier tricks he’d learned from the warriors of Opalli.
Though Lumen had even less personal time than others with his specialized studies, at this time he made his largest push to get to know the other soldiers he would be supporting.
Not nearly fast enough, and with far too little sleep Lumen graduated and acquired the title of ‘Doctor’, which had even eluded his mother. But there was little time to celebrate, or even begin a residency to practice his newly minted skills.
The Festival was soon, and Lumen had been heavily ‘encouraged’ to attend, though it seemed a bit foolish.
The Calamity would come soon, he hardly had time to breathe, let alone kneel before the king and pretend to be a warrior.
Appearance:
Lumen stands at an average height for a Crassian, with a warm tan complexion that is at odds with his mothers pale face.
Though looking at him, such a genetic hiccup seems rather nitpicky.
Below Lumens right cheek, up to the side of his head where his dark hair only slightly folds over, are tinted blue scales the size of a thumbnail that match the shade of his blue eyes, slit with a slash of black. Unmistakable and impossible to hide, they present a striking contrast to what would be a pleasant, if not outright handsome face.
The scales do not just mar his face however, patches of scales dot his front and back, the largest patches riding Lumens left shoulder down to a clawed hand and the base of his spine to an obnoxiously thick tailed appendage, wide as the mouth of a tankard mug with four feet of length.
His right thigh wears another heavy patch of scales, fortunately he does not have any on his feet to interfere with standard footwear.
Lumen typically wears loose fittings robes, cheap, easy to replace, and not difficult to tailor to be worn comfortably with a tail. In more formal situations he has no choice but to don a pteruges, a skirt with leather strips thick enough to turn an offhand strike, but not much more. Beneath this he wears a tunic cut just before the shoulder, giving full contrast between his scaly left and fleshy right arms.
Weapon and Armor Preference: No specific preference, based on situation availability and recommendation.

Did you read? What is Seig's son's name?: We won’t know till the coronation, but it will probably be long winded.
