Spoiler: The Return of a Story You May Want to Join!!
Are you interested in the return of Mystics? A new take on the 2012 Best Overall Roleplay Winner and 2017 Best Unfinished Roleplay Winner may receive a revamp. The question is, are you ready to have fun?
Appearance: Visana is an ethereal figure, mostly human in appearance but with grey-green skin. Her face is shadowed by the hooded crown she habitually wears (and it is said that her features resemble those of whoever is perceiving her at the time), though her arms and legs glow with a multitude of lines, whorls, scripts and runic symbols - each one a prayer of protection in one of the many human languages. A large pair of grey-feathered wings furl behind her shoulders, each quill and barb marked with more prayers in microscopic detail.
She lost her crown and wings in the Fall (though she can still sometimes briefly manifest the latter) and now appears as a middle-aged woman of ambiguous racial origin, dressed in a ragged stola, and still conspicuous among normal humans by her strangely coloured skin and the intricate symbols on her bare arms.
Spoiler: Visana
“I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.”
J R R Tolkien
God/Goddess of: Protection.
Faction: Order
Powers: Blessing - Visana can invoke ancient rites to put charms of protection on other beings, objects or locations. When she does this the various symbols and runes on her skin glow, and a corresponding mark is temporarily branded onto the subject. For a short period of time, the subject becomes harder to destroy - sometimes through twists of luck and sometimes through unnatural resilience.
Enfold - Visana can, when faced with extreme danger, take a god or a human into her direct embrace to protect them from harm. This manifests as a pair of spectral wings which rise from her shoulders to envelop the target, warding off an incoming attack. She is not able to concentrate on anything else for as long as she is performing this intervention, and there are some forces, particularly in the godly realms, which are more powerful than her and can therefore break through the defence.
Equipment: Visana is not just a passive protector. She will often manifest an orb of light that she can will into the shape of a weapon (usually a sword) to directly combat a threat. She does not wear armour in the traditional sense, but the many wards painted onto her skin can be focused to repel blows, or to turn them just enough to miss. This gets increasingly tiring over time, and extended combat can leave her vulnerable.
Personality: Not the most outwardly expressive, but generally warm and attentive. Seeks comfort in the familiar, and distressed by sudden change. Can be roused to cold fury by threats to her charges. Nurturing but poor at enforcing discipline.
Background: Visana is an old, old deity. She has been with humanity since the beginning - when a mother first whispered to her child, when two brothers first stood strong against a predator, when a tribe first vowed to defend their cave, she was there. For many centuries she was a dreaming, half-formed concept, but as humanity advanced so did she grow more lucid, more corporeal, more able to feed back the power humanity had given her. Humans have known her by many names - to the ancient celts she was Macha, to the egyptians Bastet, to the tibetans Arya Tara, and to the chinese Kuan Yin. Some associate her with abstract warding symbols such as the eye of Ra, or the face of Medusa (she was going through a dreadlock phase…).
Although she is generally thought of as a benevolent goddess, humans are complex creatures and have fought to protect ideals both good and bad over the ages, from hearth and home to brutal and oppressive states, from family to racial purity. Which prayers she will choose to answer varies, but at her core she believes that humans as a whole are worth preserving. Hence, since the fall she has been focused not on the greater conflict between order and chaos but protecting at least some of the humans caught in the crossfire - as such she is only now being drawn into the true heart of the matter: the Throne of Gods.
Visana has varying relations with the other gods. Though Aegis is many ages younger than her, his conceptual realm is correspondingly more developed and focused, and so he is much better suited to strategy and leadership, and to enforcing discipline (a talent Visana almost completely lacks). She and Marette have trouble understanding each other, though they originate in the same realm - the one being born from the cold logic of physical laws and the other from the mercurial minds of humans. She has an old, old rivalry with Atrophos, who always tears down what she seeks to preserve, and in her heart she knows that in the end he will always win. They have never openly been in conflict, however - after all some things that humans fought for are better for having ended, and even the good among them are only given true meaning by their finite time. She has a similar dynamic with the much younger reaper goddess, Sidhe.
Finally, done.

Spoiler: Ridstus, the God of Industry
Ridstus, often called Riddy, stands at five feet, seven inches, sporting a near-feminine physique. He has hexagonal tattoos all along his arms in a mirrored pattern, and digital lines running down from a tattooed ring around his neck. With having a near-feminine physique he is also seen wearing the latest fashion trends.
Name: Ridstus
Gender: Male
Age: ~2,000
God of Industry
Faction: Freedom
Powers
۞ Autopilot: Riddy is a rather busy man. He doesn't have too much time to ponder the activities he engages in. As such, he found it practical to put his consciousness into his tablet and let his body operate on its own. While in this state, his mind is sent to a sort of "digital lake" where he can access all the same utilities on his PDA as any other mortal. Additionally, his body can perform light to slightly intensive activities provided the activities are planned, and he is in a safe location where his body will not be disturbed while doing them. He always displays a mischevious grin, and has preset voice responses that account for the most likely questions people would ask.
۞ Bionic Physiology: Riddy's body is 95% synthetic organs and composite metal. Through the effortless progression of industry, he has gained the strength to punch holes through walls and stone. He can outpace a speeding sedan, and has leap that can clear five stories. In addition to his strength and speed, his reflexes are fast enough to dodge bullets at near point-blank range. He can turn off his pain receptors at will, he doesn't require food or water, sees in thermal and nightvision with a third sight dedicated to scanning the environment, and has an armored exoskeleton capable of withstanding most conventional arms and explosives. And, if necessary, he can also activate calf thrusters to slow his descent or increase his vertical leap to a max height of 5 stories. His brain has neural implants that allow him to interact and interface with any machine by jacking into them via his index fingers.
۞ Material Conjuration: Riddy, whenever the mood strikes him, can create wonders out of steel and stone, conjuring up metals and precious stones and shaping them to his will with the slightest touch. Although, they are always weapons and tools as he views anything beyond that to be pointless and time-wasting.
Equipment
۞ Tome of Unrelenting Progress: The Tome of Unrelenting Progress is a tablet that resembles a Galaxy Tab. It contains not only the entirety of the internet, but a data library containing all of human history. Any question the god desires can be answered with a quick search. It can also send video calls, and receive regular phone calls. It also contains a near endless list of apps ranging from social media to mobile games. It can also handle calculations as complex as theoretical physics.
Personality
Ridstus, by all rights, is the amalgamation of mankind's willingness to worship industry. From his cunning shrewd business sense to his eye for prime products and services, he never fails to make a sale. And outside of his business sense, he is as eccentric as the trends he chases; being the life of the party wherever he goes. He is known for always having something snarky to say. Although he is described as abrasive and haughty, he does have a sense of pragmatism. He sees potential in everyone and everything, and is always willing to bring out that potential.
Background
Ridstus has been around for long as human progress has been around. He can't exactly place a date to his genesis, but he remembers that when civilization made their first steps towards industry he made he is first steps into existence. Ever since then, he's been constantly changing, adapting the times and the trends. He's grown to become "linked-in," always checking the latest in news.
While not being as prolific as the other gods, Ridstus had made a name for himself among those that wished to excel at business. Some of history's greatest businessmen can be attributed to him. However, it wouldn't just be businessmen, but inventors as well. The advent of technology brought with it a whole new array of industrial power. However, nowadays, he is using that power to increase his presence in human social media circles; especially in business.
@Dire Hoef and Az - loving the characters! Both of them are accepted and added to the character list (and double-checked and made sure the links worked this time lol). Also, Az, very much liked you making connections with the rest of the player characters. Up to the group but feel free to make established relations with each other!
@Rise - Would be great to have ya join in the story and RP together again!
Well, looks like we have a fairly decent-sized DnD party lol. I'll get to work on the IC. There will be a prologue post and then the intro post that will set you all up for a(n) TPK introducing you all
I’ve already talked with Scottie about the relationship between our characters, but would anyone else like to have a pre-existing dynamic before going in?
Well, here it is, the IC link is up! I only got the prologue post finished, I intend to get my post with Aegis tomorrow and set up the introduction prompts for y'all.
Figured I could provide a little bit of reading material and set the story tone for y'all, and some might predict what's in store for your characters Enjoy the read!
@Dire Hoef and Az - loving the characters! Both of them are accepted and added to the character list (and double-checked and made sure the links worked this time lol).
Thanks Kayne! One small thing, it’s goddess of protection, not purification.
@Az - Fixed! And man, I'm getting rusty with my DM skills lol
@everyone - posted in the IC again, sorry for making a long-ass post It's open for y'all to start posting now, and feel free to come up with ideas on how your deity ended up in the current predicament
