Oh, a devil dog. I don't really get a chance to see them in the lore.
It's one of the reasons I chose exterminators and annihilator russ variants, to get a chance to give them some spotlight. Same for the Macharius super heavy companies (if they ever get a chance to show up). I'd love to write a scene with a Vulcan crew sweeping their mega bolter across a defensive line, then backing up once they run out of their 20 seconds of ammo to get reloaded by support trojans. While the battle tank variants provide covering fire.
I absolutely ADORE the Macharius tank variants. Just something about the designs really speaks to me.
Showcasing some of the perhaps lesser seen patterns is kinda the reason I went with a mechanized Krieg regiment. Put the Storm variant Chimera in the action. Also I have an unhealthy affection for autocannons.

Yes, completely agreed. I use to own 3 of them 2 Vanquishers and a Vulcan. Sold the 2 Vanquishers on eBay and gave the Vulcan to a friend. I converted that Vulcan with a ton of sandbags and ad-hoc track armour too.
Storm chimeras are cool. No doubt there, as is autocannons. Autocannons always reminds me of 40mm bofors AA guns. One day I’d like to see those twin heavy bolter turret chimeras too, maybe even the old epic versions lost to history. Chimerro, Chimerax, and Chimerdon. I think that’s what they were represented more in the lore.
How dare a weapon of war be destroyed! Lol
Ok, I've been out for a bit. Need a bit of an idea on where to deploy things.

Congratulations, you’re the second wave!
You will be orbital dropping (via armoured lander transport) into rocky desert terrain, with the primary objective being an airfield.
If you imagine the battlefield as a compass, then at the west edge is the airfield - currently under friendly Patriot control, but the buildings and AA batteries have taken some hits, and the Imperials are pushing the defenders hard. In the centre are the Imperials themselves, a large force of mechanised infantry and support vehicles, aiming to capture the airport. At the northeast corner, allied Nebula stormtroopers are pushing forward to try and disrupt the Imperial attack. At the east corner, AD’s skitarii have landed and hunkered down - an Imperial screening company of mechanised infantry have deployed to block them. At the southeast corner, Dakka’s light infantry are trying to capture an Imperial artillery strongpoint atop a rocky hill.
Enemy surface-to-air fire will be light to moderate, depending on where you decide to land.

Yes this is (Patriot) campaign 2, but there’s no PvP yet (unless you want to take it to a new side story thread...which is allowed in Persistent Worlds!)
