We can alter the title of this if you like, and I can change Arpad easy enough, like no claws or something. Just give the word.
Name: Duke Arpad Sarkani
Age: 523 (looks anywhere between 20-25)
Job: Retired wealthy investor and eccentric noble of Eastern Europe.
Race: Eastern European Vampire (I'm guessing there are variants of the species/race.)
Appearance: Medium-length back hair, slightly wavy/curling. Pale skin. Piercing yet calm blue eyes that speak of ages past. Clean-shaven, fine and almost delicate-featured, with high cheekbones and narrow and slightly stubborn set of jaw, tends to be considered handsome by both genders. Lean, yet well-muscled, about 6’5”. He wears silk and well-made cotton, often with black dress pants or jeans, black thin leather gloves and half-boots, a long black coat draped on his shoulders to hide his true nature, and as befitting a nobleman his appearance is usually immaculate and clean.
Powers:
As a vampire, his bite subdues his prey with a euphoric venom, his gaze and voice can Trance his prey when he changes the timbre so that the human subject heeds his commands (effect on supernaturals unknown). He is exceptionally fast and agile, able to leap high and far so as to appear as merely a blur. His senses are exceptional as well—acute night-sight, hearing, and sense of smell, as well as telepathic abilities of a strong level. Drinking blood--especially human blood and some supernatural ones--heals and revives him, though animal blood is enough nourishment for him to live on. If wounded enough or unstaked, Arpad’s vampiric instinct comes to the fore, and he becomes a vicious and irrational (animalistic) hunter, seeking blood at all cost… though he much regrets and is disgusted by this side of himself when it happens. He can make other vampires of his type only by breeding in the traditional fashion (um, sex), or by giving someone dying from his bite his own blood... but this is a cursed life he has no wish to pass on.
Difficult to kill because he heals swiftly (especially from normal weapons), it takes serious head damage or decapitation to kill him permanently. Sunlight, fire, and holy water can cause serious wounds, leave permanent scars, and even immobilize him; silver and vervain can poison him on contact and slow healing… all might possibly permanently kill if sufficiently applied. Crosses are a joke, as are mirrors. Garlic is just an annoyance, and in sufficient quantities can scare anyone, not just him. He can’t swim, though.
Background:
Arpad has been living since the Middle Ages, when he first died in battle as a Transylvanian Duke in defending his lands from invaders. Upon revival as a vampire, he managed to retain his belongings and title for another 50 years by passing off as a wounded but eccentric version of his former life. After, his living kin helped him retain and maintain his lifestyle and comfort and he fought on their behalf in return. The world wars disrupted this life, and most his kin died in fire (something even their vampiric inheritance could not withstand, for those who managed to survive their first deaths). With invaders taking over, and the ruling class lost, he managed to gather his resources and bid his human allies farewell, heading for new environs. Bouncing from place to place over time to avoid suspicion when he doesn’t age, he made sound investments in various enterprises that currently keep him in comfort. Much of his original belongings are in museums across the world, on loan, and some (as well as many of his monetary resources) lie in storage in places only he knows of. Though he still has human allies in places, there are still enemies out there, and so he was directed in recent times to a quiet hotel as at least temporary and safe lodgings. He has a suped-up Jaguar sportscar with specially tinted widows.
