Drawn into Mystery: The New Land (OOC)

IC Thread

Plot: The day is just like any other. You are going about your daily business when ahead of you things seem slightly faded and distorted. As you continue upon your normal business, the next steps you take finds yourself in an open field which is completely foreign. The grass is green and sky is overcast, temperature is comfortable. Around you, others seem to appear from distortions within the air; those new arrivals have never been seen by you before.

Although this land has never seen before, something seems to draw too a given path, somehow you feel someone or thing is watching however nothing is seen.

Who are these other people and beings? Why have you been brought to this strange place? Do you follow what draws you or remain where you are?

Rules:

1) All RPA rules are in effect.

2) This is Fantasy not Mature. No descriptive violence (allowable would be ‘Robert sent a wave of energy at the beast shattering it’), no swearing (allowable would be ‘Jonathan was hit and cursed out’) or other mature themes. What would another mature theme be? If you need to ask, it most likely would not be acceptable so don’t write it.

3) The 3 GMs will set any change to the day/environment.

4) If a post doesn’t fit the story, a GM will PM and ask the writer to modify the post. If we do ask, it is not a discussion on if it fits; it is politely mentioning that a post needs to be modified.

5) It is permissible for several characters to have interactions without waiting for others to post so long as it does not advance the location or current situation. GMs will mention to writers who may excessively post (ie: 30 one line posts).

6) Creativity is encouraged, if you have an idea for a plot twist, PM a GM before posting the twist. Wait for the ‘Yes’, ‘No’, ‘Modify by doing this’ before proceeding with your idea.

7) OOC drama will not be tolerated. We PM once (we will not mention in the OOC thread as that typically only increases the drama), if the drama continues after PMing ‘Once’, a Fourm Moderator will be contacted for action.

8) You may start writing in the IC as soon as your C.S. is put up, you may not use any of your profile powers/abilities until your character is listed in the accepted character list. (We may ask to tweak your powers/abilities)

9) Unlimited use of powers in not acceptable. (Expectation: Francis dodged the falling boulder by using his light speed. Standing across the field, Francis crouches down trying to catch his breath after the exhausting bust of speed). Characters need to be realistic when using powers/ability.

Background: Seth was once a rising member of A crime syndicate, one thing lead to another and he ended up faking his own death, thus removing himself from not only the syndicate but their radar. Years down the road Seth met a man who introduced him into the life of bounty hunting. During his chase of a decently high criminal bounty, Seth stumbles into this unknown place......

• very sharp eyesight, abnormally acute perception, Impeccable accuracy
• Able to make use of Slight of hand techniques to win card games, pick pockets, and even to slip things onto other people unnoticed.
• Seth is well versed in weaponry and hand-to-hand combat skills. He follows Jeet Kune Do, the mindset developed by Bruce Lee, though he has a penchant for high kicks of French boxing.
• also repeatedly demonstrates an exceptionally sharp intellect, although he has a habit for neglecting to plan ahead, as noted by allies
• He can also swallow and regurgitate objects e.g. a chip (casino chip).
• extraordinary luck
• He is also a pilot, owning a converted Asteroid racer called Swordfish II which is armed with four machine guns, multiple missile launchers, and a single plasma cannon.
• Besides all these more human level abilities, Seth has superhuman endurance and just above human, speed and agility/reflex.

Equipment/Stock: Several packs of cigarettes, A refillable lighter, two Jericho 941 pistols, one katana, several other items such as food and trinkets like a pendent on his person,

Other: An avid smoker of Cigarettes. Also missing one of his eyes, though it is replaced with an artificial one, it is unnoticeable to unknown eye and he cannot see out of it.

Note: On the bottom of the hilt of his Katana is the engraved letters of S.E.T.H, this stands for Security Enhanced Tactical Hilt. If someone other then Seth grabs the handle of the katana, several razorblades will release into their hand. A DNA recognition system in the handle keeps Seth from having the handle activate on himself, it cannot be reset or the DNA cannot be changed.

Stands 5'5" and keeps within around 105 pounds. She has a rich tan, skin soft to the touch, silky smooth jet black hair, chocolate brown eyes and a charming personality .... which is the form people want to see her in. Those who torment or try and attack her rarely live long enough to see her other side.

Background: Su Lin frequently moves from town to town with excellently forged IDs and well paid for backgrounds in event anyone does a check on her. She is one with the elements around and does not age making it necessary to move every 10 or so years. She has just moved to the Seattle Washington area several weeks ago as a private investigator/bounty hunter though never is seen carrying weapons. Her personality is normally friendly and up beat.

Su is more comfortable being in secluded forests or jungles as she relates more with nature than most people. She is cautious about forming friendships as typically those why learn her true nature tend to use her abilities for their own gain which ends up badly for those who try and use her.

Special Abilities/Powers: Su can control elements around her. Several of her control abilities she has perfected:
Lightening: She can concentrate on the natural static electricity within the air, super accelerating the molecular structure and increasing the strength till such time she directs the electrical charge in the form of lightening.

Ice: The same as static charges, she can also use the natural moisture in the air, mist on or water in lakes and rivers or even rain, cause the moisture to form ice and direct/shape the ice. Several ways she uses this ability are to encase people or objects in ice, form protective walls or domes of ice between her and aggressors, restructure the moisture into razor sharp ice shards which she combines with air control to cause the ice shards swirl around an attacker destroying the attacker.

Air Control: She can control the air in a given area. Mostly used defensively. If faces with an explosion, she controls the air around herself causing flames/shock waves flow around her while the air surrounding her remains untouched. If arrows are shot or knives are thrown, she can cause the air surrounding these objects to alter the course so as to miss her.

Energy Surges: This is the most draining on her. She does have the ability to draw energy in a given area within her and direct streams of pure energy at a person or object. Typically after directing energy streams at a person or object, she is completely drained and requires a recuperation period. She would at times concentrate on clouds in the area so as to draw lightening strikes within herself which she can absorb to quicken her recovery period.

Nature: Animals do not fear her, she can communicate with them as well. Animals of nature tend to be protective of her as she is of them. She can not control animals though.

Description: Gwen
He stands at 6'2" and only just recently lost his left eye. The rest of his body is covered in a network of scars ranging from small to painfully obvious. He keeps his hands covered because they have the most scars but his legs hold almost as many. He can hide his wings at will, and when he does they become two distinct tattoos on his shoulder. He can't hide his tail or horns, but often if he must he'll wrap it around one of his legs beneath his pants and wear a hat. The cross on his neck has more meaning to him than anyone would ever know and he never takes it off; it also hides the worst of his scars.

Background: Gwen was young once, but he often got into trouble in his world. When he turned two hundred, he finally got caught and was put in what is the equivalent of human prison, only on the same level as Hell. Most of his scars came from his time spent there, and for fifty years he never saw the light of day. While in prison, he looked for peace, mercy, but never found it. He wondered, then, if it existed for demons, and if it did, he must not have deserved it. Eventually he tried to kill himself but it failed-and after that, they banished him to the human world.
He spent the next hundred and fifty years on Earth, learning to blend in with the humans as best he could. At first he feared it and wasn't sure if he would survive, but after the first ten he learned how to keep himself hidden. He traveled with humans and made friends with other creatures as well. One of them, after many unforeseen circumstances, gave him the cross he wears now.
The last three years of his life he has actually lived with a human girl that was rather fond of him, and he of her. Of course, his past hadn't forgotten him like he had it. An old enemy appeared and he lost the woman to death. He ran for his life, and in the process lost his eye to the demon chasing him. He was still running when he found himself suddenly in a completely different place than where he had been.

Special Abilities/Powers:
Fly: Thanks to his wings, Gwen can fly; but he can only fly if his wings are visible. If they're only the tattoos, then he's grounded.

Pain: He can take, transfer, or give pain to whoever he wants too. He can even intensify it to three times what it originally was. The only thing with this is that the pain often affects him too in one way or another.
