    Default Magica Chronicles (IC)

    Magica Chronicles
Welcome to the In Character thread! You made it! But more important the game made it this far! We would like to thank all the members for signing up, now shall we get cracking on this game?

    Starting Out
Alright so lets set up the scene for our characters, shall we? First thing is first, the current party is traveling in search of the lair of the KNIGHTS who were a group of law enforcment who are now corrupt and now do things that only benfit them, because of them coutless people have died.

The current party is in a small town known as Green Patch Village. A peaceful little village with shops and tons of other little things to check out.

Also quests can only be started in towns, not in the wild, but quests can be started in any town. Just post a little note like (Start the Slime Slayer quest)

    Playing
Now before we get started, every character can go their own way, what I'm saying is not everyone has to be in the same place, if you say your character goes off and finds a mysterious looking cave and you want to explore it, go for it! You don't need every other player to say somthing. Also before we get started I would like to say that you don't control the monsters, I do, and another thing! When people are fighting something and you see that DO NOT REPLY if you arnt the one fighting it, only Me and the person fighting it will post until either the monster is dead or the player is. Once the battle is over you can post replies again. Final note, you will not always find monsters, you can't say, I walk out into the field and find 120 Spammers! I fight them! What you do is probobly only find one or two monsters around civilized life, but out in the wild almost countless enemies, Vic Versa, you can't travel all around the world and not encounter a battle.

    ENJOY THE GAME!

"Tch. Come an' get me when you ladies are done sightseeing," growled Skar.

She separated from the group with a limp wave of her off-hand and pushed through the front door of the first pub in sight. She glanced around, taking in the atmosphere and the patrons before finding a seat to her liking and plunking herself down conspicuously enough for her trappings to rattle. She wore a sneer and rapped her fingertips against the table before her.

Another goddamn hick town, she grumbled mentally.

Steven took no mind to what Skar said. He had got use to her nagging and complaining. But he was no sight seer either, he walked over between two buildings and layed down on the soft green grass. He rested his head on the firm soil and looked at the sky for a while, but slowly and gradually started to close his eyes.

Steven had been worn out by the long trips, they had done nothing but walk for the past three days just to find a town that can't even make a good meal. A shadow covered up the warm sunlight that was shining on Steven.

"What the hell, who blocked out the sun......" Steven opened his eyes to see a big man standing in the way. "The hell you want?" Steven asked.

"This isnt your property is it? So why should you rest on it? You either get lost or buy a room at the inn that is built on the property." The big man said, his breath was rancid, it smelled of raw meat.

"What if I told you to get lost?" Steven said in a cocky face.

"Leave now or I'm going to have to MAKE you leave."

"Lets see you try." Steven snorted. With that a beefy fist of the big man came down, but missed Steven as he rolled out of the way. The mans fist slammed into the ground where Steven had been laying, Steven quickly got up and kicked the back of the mans head, he flopped into the side of the building and just layed there. Steven didn't waste anytime, he turned around and walked off to another place to sleep and hide.

It had been a very long time since Ilan had traveled with a group other then his caravan, and it seemed one member, the girl, didn't like it.

He sighed, and looked around. He needed to practice his sword skills, and so he began to wander around town, striking up conversations with the villagers to see if there was anything that required a good blade.

Arriving in Green Patch Village, Rolac sighed in slight relief when Skar left the group for her own devices. All in all, he didn't like the fact that he happened to be the only Elf in the group, making it a bit difficult to truly understand the Human motives and feelings. Needless to say, as he noticed that the others went their own way, he simply shrugged. Looks like he was on his own for now... Looking around for a moment, Rolac caught sight of a nearby tree. With a soft grin, he walked over and began climbing it. Once at a higher branch, he rested down on it and looked up at the sky. For now, he would relax... Afterward, he would see if there was anything to do.

Tsst, went Skar, not so subtly trying to get the attention of a barmaid or anyone who was in earshot.

"Hey, podunk. You serfs got anythin' that needs a sharp blade--" and she motioned with her thumb across her neck to specify, "that needs to be done in these here parts? Oh, and I guess I'll take whatever passes off fer ale, too. Double."

Ilan wondered the village, until he came across a young kid, around 10 years old, playing with a wooden sword.

Ilan approached the kid, watching him swing the sword around wildly. "You know, you won't do any good against any sort of opponent just wildly swinging." The kid stopped, turned, and stared at Ilan. "Just who are you?" the kid asked, looking at him, angrily.

"I am Ilan, a swordsman-for-hire. I came here with some friends...Want me to show you some things?" The kids eyes lit up at the thought of being taught swordsmanship by a REAL swordsman, even though Ilan only had a dagger at his hip. "Yeah! Hold on, Mr. Ilan, I am gonna go get another wooden sword from daddy!" The kid turned to run off back towards the center of town.

"Whoa, hold on kid. Who's your dad?" The kid almost immediately turned, brandishly his wooden blade at Ilan. "The names Kent, not kid. And my dad's the best smith in town!" Ilan moved out of the way of the wooden blade, and smiled back at the kid.

"Sorry, sorry. So, Kent, mind if I come meet your dad?" The kid smiled, nodded, and ran off back to the center of town, with Ilan closely following.

Steven join Skar in the pub, he wanted to get out of sight of the little inncident earlier. He flopped down into the seat next to Skar.

"I'll have the......" Steven was cut off by screams from the villagers. He ran out of the pub over to the area of where the screams had been coming from. "Whats wrong?!"

"My daughter! My daughter! She was taken by some pink little monsters, I don't know the general term for them but they were short, pink, and had a bunch of teeth!" Steven knew what monster she was talking about, he knew however that the monster was a little stronger then he was, but to his surprise he saw Rolac in a nearby tree. He would need some help to take the pink monsters down. "Ok, can you tell me the direction they took her?" Steven asked the sobbing lady. She took a second to breathe and then pointed east.

Steven walked under the tree Rolac had been resting in, placed his hand on it and shook it. "Rolac, we need to go! Well not leave but chase down some monsters. You in?"

Ilan approached the smithy slowly, as the kid ran forward.

"Daddy, daddy! This professional swordsman will teach me how to fight so I can take care of those slimy things!"

"What? Who?" A gruff voice replied, as Ilan entered the smithy. "Hello, my name is Ilan. I am the swordsman, so to speak."

The smithy stared at Ilan. "Son, don't bother the poor man." The smithy ruffled his kid's hair, then turned back to Ilan. "Hello, Ilan. What can I do for you?"

Ilan looked around the smithy, and shrugged. "What did Kent say about slimes? If you need some help, I can do that."

Kent shook his head, looking grumpy. "No! That's what I am training fo--"

"Yes, that would be good. Please, can you? My son thinks he'll get strong enough before the slimes become a real nuisance. But if you can do it, I bet I can get some reward together."

Ilan beamed. Finally, a chance to get some practice in. "Alright!!"

    (start Slime Slayer quest, please.)

Rolac had been resting peacefully for a while, until a sudden shake of the tree nearly flung him out of it. Embracing the branch for dear life, he looked down to notice Steven as the cause. Hearing his question, he sighed and dropped from the branch to his feet on solid ground.
Standing up as he brushed his shoulder slightly, he then said, "Very well. Count me in."
