National soccer referee during the winter, crowd control and customer service for our railway company the rest of the year.
Technically both, though I was getting more women's games at the end of this year's season just because they fit my schedule better.
I started off playing soccer for about four years. After that, I was both playing and refereeing at once for another four or so, and for the past two years I've been doing solely refereeing. I stopped playing in part because I reached the standard where you aren't allowed to both play and referee, to avoid favouritism in higher-level games like champion leagues, but as much as I miss playing, I'm totally glad I made the decision I did to focus solely on refereeing

I'm an architect I've been practicing for almost a year now, and under people with 20-30 years experience, so I get all the bitch work. Honestly that's part of why I joined this web site. Basically when you're a new designer, you're really restricted creatively. You draw other people's designs all day, do area calculations, or spec and then type out every freaking door type. (So I know doors really well, ugh.) So I got frustrated really quickly, am questioning everything I'm doing, and decided to go write here to let out that steam. It's a creative outlet, so to speak.

It's hard doing a lot of jobs just starting out. Though I don't mean to diminish your situation. My sister is having a lot of issues with her job as an business information management... person. She does a lot with databases. Anyway, she has crappy work and people that don't help her very much. It's hard when you're still learning and all you get is stuff other people want you to do. I had a lot of that as an engineering designer when I first started. I've gotten a lot more freedom as time went on and I've shown I can do things efficiently and with attention to detail. SO... good luck with your job! I hope you can keep at it long enough to realize why you chose it.
Haha thanks for the well wishes. I'll figure it out. I always do. I know I'm going to start my own business anyway, so I'll just accept it as a calm before the storm... and as a means to put a dent in student loans. Plus it's been fun rediscovering all the things I used to love doing, before they became "unimportant" when I was in traveling and in college. The current lack of creative juices in my job have made me seek out those things again, like music and writing, which has been fun.
And in the meantime, if anyone needs information on quality door types, I'm your lady

I work for the my local utility company and help people save money on their electric bills. It's actually kinda nice being able to help people!
I explain computers to people. Sometimes I introduce people to computers.
