Allegiance/Homeland: Averonian, Ice Fields of Corden.
Weapon: Basket-hilt broadsword, targe, dirk, and dagger
Appearance: Over 7 foot tall, bulky, long, white hair(she's had to trim the thickness for the hotter climate), steel blue eyes, pale skin, dressed in a medium length white cloak, short sleeved, ice blue jerkin, animal fur pants, white fur boots.
Personality: Quick-tempered, stubbornly determined, viciously fair-minded, hard-working, resourceful, not overly fond of the other races but kind to them when she needs to be.
History: Hyla was born and raised in the Roshine clan as a Hunter's daughter, her mother and father didn't have a son to take her father's position as the Head Hunter for her clan and Hyla was too wild to be a normal female so they worked it out with the Chief to let him train her to be a Hunter. Much to the disdain of the young males and other Tribesmen she excelled at this occupation for a few years mostly thanks to her father's training but once he was killed in a scrap with another Snowrunner tribe. And since most of her Tribe wasn't for her being a Hunter in the first place her training stopped and she was forced into the role of cook, mother, gatherer, seamstress, and healer. She reluctantly fell into the role but kept her dreams of becoming a great Hunter alive and trained a little on her own through her extra training she developed a thirst for learning in general.
She often went to the Chief and asked if he found any books on enemy Tribes or dead travelers. The picking were slim but she eventually learned how to read with some help from an old Healer that took up residence in their camp. As her lesson progressed she saw her Tribesmen begin to treat her differently, they treated her like a freak or outcast. She wasn't allowed into clan celebrations or events and eventually they forced her to eat by herself. She went to the Chief to ask way this was happening and all he said was.
"You forget your place female."
These words proved true in time. She grew angry at the Gender split she never noticed before but the males definitely made themselves out to be better than the females which was partially true but she saw females excelling in things males were horrible at. She wondered and tried to change the roles but failed too much.
Once she reached the age for mating none of the young males wanted her they all thought she'd be too wild and hard to deal with, because of this she was been forced into exile and banished from the fields. She's had to live in the capital for 5 years and despite missing her family she's learned much from the Scholars who give her classes as payment for fur and meat.
She was always a quick learner by Snowrunner standards when her father taught her and her Tutors were surprised at her ability because most Snowrunners aren't much smarter than trolls. She taken particular interest in hand-to-hand combat, the closet her people got was break off a chunk of ice and wail the enemy until they die or give up. She's asked some of her customers if they know any instructors most said no but one, an old man called Griseld told her of one down south in Aerie. Taking these words to heart she packed up her business and began making plans to travel to the Elvin city.
She started her journey pretty much the same day she was told about it. She didn't have any close friends that would miss her and with her gone other Hunters had more business. Her tribe pretty much left her naught so it was an overall easy process. She wished the same could be said about the change in weather having lived in the freezing north her whole life this was that hardest part about her transition to a traveling fighter. She had to swap out her heavy clothing for the more "flimsy" as she called it outfits of the Southerners and cut nearly all her warm white hair off. If you never heard her talk you'd guess she was a large human. Pale skin, oval eyes, button nose, small round ears, she hated it to her humans were just scrawny pests you could kill and eat or guide through a blizzard so they don't die. Either way weaklings in the eyes of a Snowrunner.
Goals: Hyla's goal is to become a mighty fighter and Hunter so she can return to her Tribe and try to equalize the roles. She hoped that if she showed that
females can do the things males can it would inspire other females to try and do the same and maybe she could find a male Snowrunner and teach him the female roles just to see if other males would try it out.
