June 2025
A worldwide chemical attack has resulted in an epidemic that overwhelmed all efforts to contain it. Initial attempts to contain and control the pandemic have failed, with the military and law enforcement agencies meeting coordinated opposition that decimated their forces, leaving people to fend for themselves made more difficult by attacks by electromagnetic pulses that eliminated the power grids.
In a world where the dead rise, people must learn to survive. This means learning to become pragmatic individuals willing to fight for their lives. People had to learn new skills, and adapt old ones to suit their needs. Only the strong survive.
All standard RPA rules apply.
The starting point is Washington D.C. It’s been 18 hours since the emergency response failed. That gives you enough time to procure equipment and begin to form a plan of action. The streets are overrun with the undead, and the survivors have to connect and organize themselves to find a way out.
Your profession tells us what you’re best at, but feel free to have a variety of skills so long as you keep it balanced. I’m not going to ask you to list them. However, by this point you need to be capable of protecting yourself and others through violent action. Don’t have to be comfortable with it, or overly good at it, simply capable and willing to do so. A lot of emphasis will be put on doing so quietly, and preferably without wasting ammunition for firearms. There are no limits on weapons, but be aware of ammo availability and weight. Same goes for other supplies: medical, food, water, and other miscellaneous items.
Types of Zombies (This list will be updated over time as new mutations and strains are discovered. Keep in mind though that zombies are not the only dangers, as you will come across highwaymen, raiders, and other hostile survivors.)
Hunters- More common in Rural areas, hunters operate either alone or in packs usually no larger than a dozen. With preternatural senses, they can detect prey around them at a distance, track them by smell alone. Fast and agile, they are difficult to outrun, and have the endurance to pursue over long distances. They’re also highly aggressive, even being found to attack other zombies.
Walkers- More common and found more commonly in Urban environments, they are usually found in herds numbering between twenty and a hundred. Despite their name, they can move at a jogger’s pace, and even sprint short distances.
Screamers/Howlers- Usually on the fringe of any group or by themselves, Screamers and Howlers (Depending on whether they’re male or female) start screaming or howling at the top of their lungs when prey is sighted, alerting all nearby zombies of their presence.
Behemoth- Large and with preternatural strength, these muscle-bound zombies are even more aggressive, known to attack other zombies. Some carry large blunt objects that they use to attack with, while others are nearly impossible to stop. They are capable of breaking brick walls while sustaining minimal damage, and given enough time can break steel hinges. Usually solitary creatures.
Reapers- All information currently unknown.

With the career of a Green Beret, it was his job to train and equip indigenous forces in guerrilla warfare, utilizing smaller forces to take on much larger ones.
By the time the outbreak occurred, Salem was on assignment at the Pentagon to give a de-briefing on his activities during his last operation. During the initial phase of containment, he was tasked with helping to secure the city. When that failed, he was forced to retreat back to the Pentagon only to find it to be little more than rubble. Without any way to communicate with his superiors, cut off from his unit, he returned to his home and changed clothes before gathering his equipment.
When he left, it was with a plan in mind; locate and rescue any survivors, establish a safehouse preferably within a compound that could be readily fortified, and re-establish some semblance of order. After that, he would establish further operations to continue to replicate that plan while initiating an investigation into the cause behind the outbreak.
Spoiler: Zeke played by SiksName: Zeke Edge
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Profession: Farmer/Hunter from Atlanta
Description:Spoiler: The Man
Zeke is an extremely fit man 185 pounds of hard earned muscle and 5'8. When working the farm he's wearing old blue jeans, a white-tank-top, and when needed an old leather coat.
Spoiler: The Hunter
In his off time he's one of America's many Doomsday preppers. While not as crazy as most were his father and grandfather were adamant about being prepared for anything. This transferred down to Zeke his brother and their many cousins. The above is what Zeke looks like when out on family excursions and what he generally is running around in now that doomsday has come.
Weapons: While he can use a gun quite well, he prefers the modified long bow in the image above. He keeps it unwound and in a long protective case across his back along with nearly fifty sharp fiberglass arrows with interchangeable heads.
He also carries a colt MK IV and a tactical tomahawk
Equipment: Whether on or off the farm Zeke always carries a Gerber multi-tool, a three inch folding pocket knife, a five inch fixed blade Gerber knife, a high powered flashlight, waterproof matches, a lighter, and 550 cord.
Now though he's fully kitted up gas mask, a large coil of rope, high-powered binoculars, three tin canteens extra batteries, twenty four more rounds for his colt, and arrow making and bow repair kits all held neatly in his old rucksack.
Clothes: Clothed as above thick tan pants, a warm field jacket with a hood, wool finger-less gloves, tac-vest, and heavy brown combat boots.
Background: Born on an old plantation a few miles south of Atlanta. While not originally belonging to his family the Edges having been tilling the soil there for four generations. Tobacco, cotton, and various kinds of animal meat were the primary exports coming off Edge plantation.
Zeke is the youngest of the family, his brother Ike was twenty-eight, but they've always been close. And being the only kids around for miles they were their own best friends. Hunting fishing, tearing around the woods and swamps near their home. This was life and it was a good one for many years. That was until Ike decided to follow in his Grandfather's footsteps and joined the Army. Zeke was too young to join so he got saddled with Ike's chores, it took him a bit of time, but he grew stronger each and everyday and business continued as usual.
Though as his brother completed his training and went off to war the mood changed. His father and grandfather always subscribed to the be prepared for anything philosophy, but the day Ike got shipped out they doubled-down on it turning the idea into an obsession. Building a fallout shelter, buying up stocks of ammo and supplies, and began training heavily in survival, woodcraft, and anything else they could think of. Zeke learned what he could, but when news came to the homestead that Ike had been killed in combat his family went nuts. They sold their crops and fields and turned the plantation house into a small fort.
They turned towards teaching other doomsday preppers for income, but Zeke was somewhat disenchanted with it. He was tired of living like the death of the human race was right around the corner. So on his 26th birthday he bought a one way ticket to DC, he had been talking with a friend up there who had a nice paying job at a shooting range for him. Even if he was trying to get away from the doomsayer life the habits traveled with him. He had his full bug-out bag and weapons stuffed in the back of his old jeep and arrived in DC a full week before shit went south. Now it had been in the news that rumbling of war were rolling through the White House, but Zeke never paid it much mind. That was until zero hour hit, the dead had arisen and the young man was almost caught in the first death toll. But all the training and preparation he'd been balking against for years saved his life and now he's making plans to get back to the old homestead and make a last stand with his family.

Academically, she's a science teacher, and worked full time at Middleton H.S., in the heart of DC, but she also enjoyed taking short trips to the mountains to hike and camp. For her camping was an adventure and she always set up at the "rustic sites", building a fire without matches and constructing a lean-to with branches--both skills she learned from her father at an early age. Although not a survivalist, she's pretty self-sufficient. ..and this was her typical schedule...
...and then the unthinkable happened.
Andi didn't believe in the walking dead, but when fiction becomes fact, you can't deny what is right before your eyes. So she stocked up on supplies and "bugged in", trying to keep up-to-date on all the happenings within the city. When the system failed, she went to the only fortified place she was familiar with--the high school. Set up with an enclosing fence, basement bomb shelter, and brick walls throughout, it was a virtual fortress and many people flocked there when their homes were no longer safe. The sick and injured were housed in the gymnasium and several military types roamed the halls. They had enough supplies to last at least a month--or until help came. But help did not come in time...they came...and Andi was forced to take to the streets at the height of infection.

He applied and was accepted to MIT; This exposed him to a wider variety of both technology and trouble. He was among the first to join the fledgling drone movement, turning his long history of playing video games into something else. His interest in Kenjutsu lead to Ash learning Taido, and developing an interest in Parkour. Before graduation Ash drew the attention of the National Security Agency when he hacked into their recruitment server to stick his name on the list.
His career was dull and generally tedious. Ash’s only excitement came when he was selected to test pilot the new drones. To correct this Ash began training for a field position. Unfortunately he would never get that chance.
Ash had been looking forward to the day of the outbreak as he would be testing the newest surveillance drone. The test of the TR-4 was successful, until it was abruptly ended. Ash thought the description of the event that ended the test was a joke, until he saw it through the drones eyes.
The 18 hours since the initial response was mostly a blur to Ash. He remembers the escort of the drone being attacked; He remembers a near escape with the drone; He remembers stumbling across the remains of a Secret Service Escort, which he scavenged weapons and ammunition from. Ash had made his way home and retrieved his camping gear. After ensuring the new drone was compatible with his charger he left his personal drone behind and set to familiarizing himself with the TR-4's capabilities.

The drone is controllable from Ash’s tablet as well as his laptop. It has a pair of cameras, one mounted atop, the other on the underside of the drone. The drone has a half hour long flight time on a full charge. It also has a range of a mile and a half.

It didn't take him long to realize how skilled she was at killing when a deal went wrong and she brutally dispatched the armed guards of the other party almost single handedly. He immediately offered her services to clients looking for a contract killer for the next five years.
Throughout those years she'd lost count of how many she'd killed, but all of them had been brutal. As a result of her line of work, her mental state has changed completely. She's cold, calculating, and ruthless, and if someone pisses her off enough, she'll enjoy every moment of their suffering.

Spoiler: Eniko Kuramoto played by Leanna
Name: Eniko Kuramoto 倉元 型付け
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Profession: Intern at George Washington University Hospital.
Description:
Measuring at an even five-foot-three, Eniko’s daintier bone structure has always been one of her most definitive traits; the other, of course, being her heavily oriental facial features. At any rate, the random onlooker could easily conclude that the young woman hails from a family that has reproduced little (if at all) outside of their own ethnicity.
Weapons:
Unfortunately, none. For now, anyway.
The outbreak has caught this fun-loving young lady totally off guard, leaving her alone and in a bit of a precarious position. In the past, Eniko has never needed to venture outside the relative safety that her charmed upbringing had thus afforded her. Before the world had gone to hell, the young woman’s free time had been merrily spent dancing in clubs late into the night, bike riding on sunny weekends, and attending yoga classes religiously. So danger and violence and weapons had always felt as foreign to her as... well, Japan.
Equipment + Clothing:
Since she was a child, Eniko has experienced great joy in expressing herself through clothing. Often, she could be found floating around D.C. sporting a leather jacket, braided hair, and studded Cuban block heels. Then, when it came to smarter wear, cocktail dresses and stilettos would often make their appearance... particularly on nights that she would go on dates or karaoke outings with her friends.
Yet, on the most casual of days, an oh-so-fuzzy beanie coupled with silly socks and white sneakers would suffice. (In fact, Ko has quite an extensive collection of ridiculous socks, her favourite pair covered in little Shiba Inus. That pair is very sentimental to her, as they remind her of her beloved family pet, Zoom, who is at home with her parents in San Francisco.)
Yet of course, these were only the clothes she wore in her downtime. Due to the nature of her work, most of her day was spent in scrubs; so every opportunity to wear her own clothing always felt like a treat.
As for equipment, all that Eniko has readily available is what she currently has lying around in her vividly decorated city centre apartment. Shiiiit.
Background:
Having grown up within an affluent area of San Francisco, Eniko is a young Californian woman who has enjoyed a life of relative privilege since birth. She and her younger sister Emiri, always having been two peas in a pod, were both well looked after by their parents. Their father, an esteemed neurosurgeon in the Bay Area, worked at the UCSF Medical Centre, while their mother was the head of a school of cosmetology located near Fisherman’s Wharf.
This upbringing thoroughly explained the quality of the apartment that young Eniko lived in while in Washington DC; as well as the quality of the education she had received in order to intern as a surgeon of traumatic injury. Yet, this fortunate life had not always been the case for her family.
In Eniko’s case, her familial story began in the United States in the 1930s, with a bit of hope and a lot of hard work. Her great-grandparents had immigrated from Nagasaki, Japan, and into the San Francisco outskirts as newlyweds. There, they were initially received with immense friendliness, and the Karumotos sought to successfully integrate into their new country.
Eventually, however, such niceties waned. After the events of Pearl Harbour, many US residents of Japanese descent were suddenly met with intense distrust by their American neighbours. It did not take long for many so-called friends to suddenly become aloof, causing all Japanese families to become so socially isolated that government officials were forced to arrive on their doorstep with questions.
Paranoia saturated these communities in those days, and Eniko’s great-grandparents had been forced to abandon their home in San Francisco. Where were they sent? The Tule Lake Internment Camp just south of Oregon... for four years.
When the war finally ended, life never went back to normal for the Karumotos. The American community that her great-grandparents had loved so much never saw them as the same people again, instead assuming they must have been guilty. They were whispers of them being war criminals or spies, despite them having no affiliation with the Japanese government.
Yet returning home to Japan felt incredibly futile after the events in Nagasaki.Everything back home, everything they had known in Japan, was gone. Homes. Family. Friends. Farms. The atomic bomb decimated tens of thousands, before poisoning even more with radiation. What was there to return to?
So, instead, her great-grandparents reluctantly remained in the United States, hoping that they could find a way to give their children a better future. They worked tirelessly at this, and the Karumoto family eventually rose above the ashes of their life in the 1940s. It was during the 1980s that Eniko’s grandfather made some wise investments, that lead to the eventual wealth that the young woman would later be born into.
And she had been happy. She had been gifted with a life of security, and had always been showered with affection by those who loved her. She had little reason to ever believe such a good life could ever come to an end.
Thus, Eniko is currently battling a functioning state of shock. Not only has she realised that life as she knew it was completely over, but she is quickly learning that she must improvise and adapt if she is going to survive.

Born into a wealthy family straight out of the Carolina's, Eric had it all. His family had the money, he had all the toys he desired, the designer clothes. Everything he could ask for. He had any video game he asked for, even was able to get submitted into a school made just for fighting. The school taught him how to use a staff for combat, and helped him excel in his classes of all kinds. Yet Eric took an interest into the fights and the Science class in his regular school.
Eric found in his free time, that he was spending his time creating small electrical things to start. His first project he would say he was proud of was a potato clock. As many other students would show in his younger school years but the ideas would expand soon after. His Sixth year of school, he won the Science fair by creating a small robot from the parts of an old Microwave and a remote to a television.
While that year wasn't the first in his science projects he would proceed to the Seventh grade Science fair in which he created a mini bomb that exploded into confetti all while destroying a small toy car. It had won no more then Third place he still found pride in the project itself.
As the years would pass, he found his love in the arts of explosions. From the start of the first bomb all the way to the upcoming days of the future, he was always creating something new. Something that would explode some times bigger some times smaller. He found himself testing his abilities on the explosives on random fruits along with small dolls he would find in his sisters room without her knowledge. It would generally end in the two fighting but it was still fun.
His high school years, Eric found a new time to shine. His explosions became his priority but he would come to a new love of rock climbing. Taking his first climb in his freshman year as some kids found it nice to use the flag to hang up his backpack on he scaled it and retrieved it. The Gym teacher saw his abilities and quickly took him into his class with the skills teaching him how to climb not only poles but rocks and other things of sort. Giving him a new found love for the sport.
The rest of the High school years were a breeze. Sophmore year he fell into Chemistry class and excelled into the honors class. He often took after school classes to expand his knowledge into the subject while taking up his rock climbing skills afterwards.
Shortly after graduating High school, he slipped straight into a University using his parents money to pay for the matter. It was here, he took a Chemical Major into the school where he excelled even further. He would use the schooling to press his mind further and learn even more on the matter. As the time passed in his school years and he eventually came to the power to create a bomb large enough to blow up a small call.
While Eric's time was found studying, he gave himself the time to find a job in a Demolition Crew. They destroyed buildings for the fun of it and crashed them to the ground just for a pay check. He used his interest in the Rock Climbing so he could scale the buildings and place bombs in the sides of them just to bring them down faster. It was a job that Eric came to love and enjoy through his first three years of college.
It was his final year of college. The Final year and he was excited. The year he could graduate and get into his own career of life. That was all a long dream he fell into only to have this dream crash for another dream he had once before. The outbreak would begin and leave him to fend for himself. A majority of the people in his class were turned from the once kind individuals to the vile creatures that were called the undead.
While most people called them '
He rigged areas up to cause small explosions by many different ways. Often falling to the remote activation, timers, or even trip wires. But he used this as a distraction for many different things. His main motive was to cause a noise here, watch as they all ran towards the noise and use that to run around over there. Training the zombies to the best of his abilities.
Noteable things:
His hoodie is almost always covered in blood from different zombies. The blood across the jacket is coated in different types as he uses the blood from anything he can kill keeping the smell of death fresh on his figure so he can much more easily evade and proceed through areas undetected by his usual "living" scent.
His skills when it comes to fighting with a staff are basic. He hasn't worked with it in years and only has the ability to fight two at most when it comes to the undead. And a single individual when it comes to a person.
Eric is great when it comes to climbing but his skills will generally stop there. He is terrible when it comes to leaping great distances. And uses his climbing picks with a rope attached if he needs to cross anything up high that is more then twelve feet apart.
He is a quick, agile, and fit for his age. But he is not the strongest when it comes to hand to hand fighting.
Although it was only a short time since the communication failed. He's taking quick notes into the different forms of undead. Studying them in different ways to get a better understanding of them and the way they work.
Eric tends to use his mind over anything else when it comes to almost anything. Quick thinking and using the best possible conclusion he can come up with.
If it's possible, he will find a way to blow it up. Even the simplest explosions such as a Drano bomb. A little bit of Drano, and a bit of Tin Foil and give it a few minutes inside a glass bottle before boom.

This proceeded to him striking the creature leaving it immobile where he drug it to the basement and tortured it for a long Seven hours. If one could hear it, he was sure the sounds of it's screams could be heard by the devil himself in the depths of hell.
Spoiler: Marcelle Boutet played by Fox
Name: Marcelle Boutet
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Profession: FBI SWAT, specialising in breach and clear operations, VIP escorts, and counter-insurgency. Has some field medic training, both as part of her job and thanks to her husband.
Description: Black hair, pale skin and brown eyes. Marcelle is every bit a classic French woman. You mention French women, and Marcelle is likely to come to mind. Her slightly athletic build hides her strength, and has made people under estimate her in the past. She has a few scars and tattoos on her body, the most notable ones being a sword, wreathed in flames and topped with a crown on her chest, the blade of the sword sitting along her breastbone, a fleur-de-lis on her right shoulder, and of course a large burn scar on her left hip, the reminder of an accident from her childhood involving hot water and an inattentive older brother.
Weapons: Pancor Jackhammer shotgun, alternate loaded slugs and flechette rounds (first round is actually a single breaching slug for breaching doors). MP7 SMG and riot shield. Single axe (modern working replica of an actual French-style medieval battle axe)
Equipment: FBI SWAT uniform, including full armour. Backpack with basic survival and camping gear (she was planning a camping trip with her husband before zero hour).
Background: Marcelle was born the middle child of a French father and French-Canadian mother, so it is safe to say she is very close to her French roots. Her family moved to the US when she was 8 from Canada, they lived in a few cities, before eventually settling down in Baltimore. Marcelle was a very curious girl; she liked reading books, especially history books, but also was highly athletic. When she turned 18 she applied with the FBI and was quickly accepted. She excelled in her training, which included some hand-to-hand training, mostly boxing and a bit of Krav Maga. She was moved into FBI SWAT by the time she was 23. One day she met a paramedic from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department. They became friends, and quickly fell in love. By the time she was 25 she was happily married. Her husband had made sure to teach her a bit more about saving lives outside of a hospital in addition to her basic first aid training. When the outbreak occurred, she had been at Quantico on a training exercise, training some new recruits, when word came in that her team was needed in DC in the Bellevue neighborhood, she knew that was where her husband’s station was. By the time she got there, though, she found that he had been killed by some infected who had, by all accounts, returned to life. She would provide defense of the South Mass Casualty Unit, or what remained of it, while they tried to evacuate sick and injured, only for them to be over run from the inside. She barely escaped, her team died during the final escort mission, her husband’s unit also was dead, she would later arrive at Joint Base Anacosta-Bolling, having seen the fight for it.
