He's dead! Wait, no he's not. I'm talking times where one of the main characters gets shot, is trapped in a building before it explodes, is drowning to death, left for dead, or otherwise should logically be dead. I believe the correct term is plot armor; when a character that should be dead lives simply because they are important to the plot.
The seals have been broken...
The Purgament has begun...
The Piper's out of the basement...
The Dead have started to boogie...
Decay is Coming
Spoiler: The winner is...
When it's the same theme over and over again. Like the additional movies in the Taken series. It gets boring real fast.
I used to think it was awesome but the more and more I watch (I’m not even a “movie person”) I get annoyed by the instances someone says something seemingly insignificant and then another person dramatically says the same thing but it’s after the climax after someone has died or something.
The most annoying cliche in movies is the hero(ine) always has a love interest. Even if it's the sidekick one of the good guy/girl always ends up with somebody. Why can't we have a romance free story?
I feel ya, Dnafein.
Damsel in distress. So many damsels, so many distresses.
art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable

The band of nit-wit recruits who can't do anything for one third of the movie, somehow do pretty well one high-stakes fight, and are suddenly bad-A's for the rest of the film.

Walking away from explosions like a bad ass.
Sullen man whose life is meaningless until he gets the girl.
Ugly duckling becomes the swan.
Nerds are always smarter.

Jumpscares in areas where there aren't even any monsters or lack of warning:
Silent hill
Dead space series (theatre)
metro 2033 ( though the lack is used to damned good effect, just try playing the tunnel with the tram and not go into the adjacent room)
Movies that use or overuse known cliches. outside of the conjuring (which really did happen), the other movies are bland. the exception's are the Ritual (damn good use of ambient noise to create tension. "i swore the tree just moved" Cloverfield (the subway),10 cloverfield lane (every freaking moment) and War of the worlds (the aliens in Oglivy's house)
other pet peeves:
Tag along kid (tim from Jurassic park)
not showing what killed the characters (Jurassic park 3 with the boat and Lost world with the ship)
Promising an awesomely cool monster or fight scene, then slapping us in the face with a gotcha! (too many to list! Twilight Breaking Dawn and The Last Jedi (made me hate disney)
a ton of others but i don't want to waste your time.
Megs continued abuse in family guy (kill peter, knife lois and burn down the house. end of series)

First it took Miller. it was...inhuman, snarling like a savage animal. The Elevators became tombs, the stairs deathtraps. We are All in a state of fear that we will be next. Something is stalking the halls, intent on feeding. We are in Lockdown
