This is a story about a Toast Monster, two mad scientists, and an invisible monster trying to take over the city of Gwintata. Can the villagers put a stop to it or will they all be wiped out?

"Aren't we done yet?" Rintaro called out to his fellow scientist. He was staring at his clipboard, looking at all the data he had written down. Rintaro beamed at the two monsters being created before him, or at least, he could see one. The other was invisible.
Luna plucked another petal from the small yellow flower in her hands. She was sitting in a field right next to the village, her lap full of flowers and pulled petals as she hummed to herself. Luna had always and probably would remain different. She never seemed quite there and while she could be helpful she often was found wandering away from the village and many were afraid that she might get lost if she wasn't watched. She was always cheerful it seemed and believed in little goblins and gnomes. Luna plucked another petal and blew it away watching it float down into a bed of flowers.

"Calm down Rin, I just need to add a little something extra," Myas said as he added a drop of a pink dye to the invisible monster so that it was able to be seen slightly if you squinted, but in the dark, the monster wouldn't even be able to be seen lightly. She would be completely invisible "Remind me again why you won't consider making my idea of a half rat half zombie hybrid? It's a good plan!" Myas said as the pink dye settled in the stomach of the monster they were creating.

"Wai-" Rintaro was about to object, but then he realized Myas' plan was better than his. Rin was willing just to put some sort of name-tag on the creature and be done with it. "Nevermind," Rintaro said, walking over to the toast monster.
"Remind me again why you won't consider making my idea of a half rat half zombie hybrid? It's a good plan!"
"Because it would be a little too small, any bigger and the rat part wouldn't function," Rintaro said to Myas. Even if the Toast Monster was stupid too. You should be happy we could even make something invisible as well.
"Well you will be sorry one day when I am super famous and rich and you are the same looney imbecile everybody thought you were in grade school." Myas chuckled, even though he was also called a looney imbecile in grade school. In fact most people respected Rin's brilliance and just labeled Myas as a mentally unstable person.
"So, what do you suggest we do with the toast monster?" Myas questioned.

"So, what do you suggest we do with the toast monster?"
"We release it on the town," Rin said, with a crazed grin on his face. He took three sticks of butter from the nearby cooler and tossed them into the cage where the Toast Monster was. "I want to see what happens."
The toast monster stirred at the coolness that entered the tank, opening his one eye. As his body absorbed most of the butter, while the rest of it just covered him. The blinked blankly, looking out at his creators.
Luna blew away another handful of petals before looking up as a small flock of birds flew over head. She was distracted by them until they were out of sight. Dropping her flowers she slowly picked herself up before walking in that direction, fortunately that was the direction of the village.

As he watched Toast Monster tried to speak, but was only able to make grunts and sound effects. One sounded like a growl and for a moment he could feel the butter soak into his body. He grew an inch in size so that his head hit the roof of the cage, nearly knocking his hat off his head. Why they decided to dress him was beyond his intelligence, which wasn't much to begin with. But, he understood the words release and the town. It was something he was being told since his birth and he knew it meant crush everything. So he awaited for more commands, sometimes nibbling on the metal cage.
