    THE STATE OF ELYSIUM
    A game by yours truly~

    Within the continental country of Denegrad lay the state of wonder, mystery, and treachery. A place of both beguilement and enlightenment. A place of light and darkness. The state is Elysium, where humans live in conjunction with their demonic counterparts and strangely transmogrified humans. This state is known throughout Denegrad as a trading outpost. The biggest one on the entire continent, and as such, the source of most mysteries solved and conundrums created. Culture is rich within this merchant state, and grows with every passing caravan. There is not a place within Elysium one could go without feeling as if you were just in the town not but an hour ago.

    However, strange things have been happening.

    Vendors suddenly disappear from the trade routes they've been going along for years. The animals are restless and attack without warning, the bears being the biggest problem, since dragons have all but migrated out of the state. And the biggest problem:

    Each newborn human since the problems began, has had what is called a "Remnant" located within their body when they're born.

    The "Remnants" grants these humans with strength and intelligence beyond their ancestors, and not only that, the ability to perform the arcane arts. The pieces are called "remnants" because the artifacts seem to be pieces, not an entire thing. For instance, one human was reported to have a pupil as a remnant, but not the whole eye.

    However, within this medieval fantastical land, a few select humans have been born with an entire "Remnant" on their body. These humans are called the Forsaken. They are shunned away from society much more from their pieced counterparts because the remnant is completely visible instead of being somewhat unnoticeable. One child was born with an entire arm as a remnant, another was born with a remnant that was her entire left leg. Keep in mind, the limbs are still functional, just made of a very pearlescent colored metal-like substance.

    Could the remnants be the cause of the unrest within Elysium? Or could the remnants simply be pieces to a whole grand spectrum of problems? The governor of Elysium has been absent from his office for months since the problems, where is he and why has he not shown himself?

    And the big question:

    Where did the "remnants" come from?


    SETTING:

    A pit fighting arena where enslaved remnant-adorned humans battle to the death for their masters' earnings. The arena is a bowl of red, dusty sand. Bones scatter the area, long dead fighters no longer under the service of their masters. A cage is over top the pit, closing off any type of escape by the Forsaken, since the cage is inlaid with shield runes. The stands are filled with notorious criminals and even aristocrats, betting on who will win.

    THE RACES:

    Humans: You know this. Only Humans are born with remnants and only humans have remnants.

    Demonise: Demonic counterparts of the humans. Said to be half-demon, half-human. The Demonise are not born with remnants. Use your imagination on these characters, since they're half-demon. However, there will be no wings. The Demonise can also be said to be anthropomorphic, since a wolf demon may have raped a human woman to create a wolf-demon child. Like I said, use your imagination. The Demonise excel at the arcane arts and depending on their heritage, may have a heightened sense of comprehension or amazing vigor.

    (Rough draft here. Feel free to join in, since I may change things before starting the IC. You should know how to make a character profile. =P)

    sounds cool I'm planning on joining, still deciding on whether to be a human or a demonise. And just so we're clear what exactly is an arcane act?

    There are different structures DA. Which one do you want?

    Honestly, just make one free-style with what you think should be covered about your specific character. It's not that hard. =P Obviously your character needs a story and a race and a name. Branch from that. I want detail. Explain the remnant, for instance, if you're Human, or explain your arcane proficiency if you're Demonise.

    Personality: Arrogant and largely puristic, Remmington deems himself 'too good' for the concept of Love. Counting the fact that he grew up knowing no shame in the act of killing others, he can be best noted as being a Sociopath who enjoys his profession of murder. However, deep within his lost innocence is still the inner child, embracing his knees towards the fears and traumas he had endured with a false smile.

    Background: Weapons need no upbringing, so it was no surprise that Remmington has little to say about his Past life. Born to a prospective father willing to weaponize the new phenomena of the Remnant, Remmington lived without shame or any trace of animosity towards murder. In fact, he actually wanted to enjoy the act of killing. For a purpose, of course.

    Entering the Arena under the name Der Uhrturm, he was reputed to always come into the Arena with a frown and to leave with a smile. It's no surprise that he always delivers to his promise to double the weight of any contender with lead, the young man being of a level of his own, a one man army that pulverizes all opponents with extreme prejudice.

    Appearance: Face Shot , Full

    Remnant Location: Just at his Left chest, resting just nearly up to his heart.

    Remnant Effect: "Deathly Maelstrom" gives Remmington the ability to compress space and control density around his body, only within reach of his clothing. This allows him to hide the massive machinery that comprises his attacks. If anything leaves the boundary of the Deathly Maelstrom, it regains it's full size, soaring at exactly the same speed and trajectory it had before. In all, he has 231 Clockwork Machines, 187 Rifles , 24 Cannons, 57 Lance protrusions held back by pressure systems and the Clockwork battlements, if fully sized, would be as big as an actual Clocktower. He can also downsize any item he places in his pockets, allowing him to carry maintenance kits without taking much space or weight.

    Skills Info:

    Strömende Salve (Torrential Salvo): Dotted with cannons all around his clothing, Remmington can unleash a savage volley of Bullets and Cannonballs at his opponents, fired by the small machinations that reside within his clothing at the proximity of his body. Can fire only at the direction he faces.

    Wand von Messern (Wall of Knives): All around his body, the Machinations thrust out spears from his clothing, manifesting in the shape of a collection of lances that protect Remmington from harm in any direction except below him. Has a 2 second Start up time and remains there for 5 seconds.

    Gemetzel-Schere (Carnage Scissors): Remmington unleashes a collection of lances that protrude from his hand at any given point, stabbing the enemy with enough lances to constitute his own phalanx. This attack can be done in the air.

    Klaue der Gerichtlichen Untersuchung (Inquisition Claw): From his Shoulder, Remmington fires a grappling, piston-like hook that soars through the air. If this attack connects with the enemy it deals lower damage the farther it travels. If it hits an object that is not sentinent, it grapples onto that object and reels Remmington to that area.

    Laetabilis Cantata: Remmington shoots the Inquisition Claw at close range and then expels the enemy far, bombarding him/her with a hail of Cannon fire as the victim is sent reeling towards the nearest wall.

    Keine Existenz der Unschuld (No existence of Innocence): Losing all form of self-restraint, Remmington unleashes absolutely everything in his armory, unleashing his arsenal in every conceivable direction except from below and above him, firing them in repeating volleys, devastating the battlefield all around him. Afterwards, the Machinations overheat and enter a temporary hibernation phase, rendering him unable to use his skills for 10 Minutes.
